There is rarely need to go below: that means you have try to filter something that is gelyfying or clogging the filtration media (frit or membrane) or just too much at once. If you do go below 10 mm, I would add a mesh around the flask, or perform the operation behind a plexiglass shield is recoomended for long vaccum; using google is not enough, if this brake under vacuum an implosion will happen (all pieces collapses to center then fly everywhere in small pieces, it is a dangerous; please follow general safety in lab, i cannot be hold responsible for your activity based on my advice; and one more: inspect the glassware before each use: if you have cracks or even scratches then what I said above is not safe; never use glassware with visible defects; good luck
