In the average salon machine 6lbs of wax will become liquid in an hour and a half at high temp (150-168 degrees) maintaining the temperature of 120-125 will keep the paraffin liquid and a comfortable dipping temperature on the skin

Answer:	I purchased mine in 2014 and have never checked the water and mine is in full Texas sun. If it's getting gunky, it doesn't seem to affect the performance nor the appearance.
