My son is now at 27 pounds and still fits fine.Two things to point out, 1) you baby should be able to stand and sit up etc the float offers no support in that regards other than a piece they can lean back on.2) order and extra one, our first float ripped at the strap causing the thing to lose air and sink. So they aren't durable and that was after the 5th usage.

Answer:	Yes. There is Velcro under the front two posts that helps hold the sunshade on to the float. The back two posts are completely attached though so the sunshade cannot be removed.

Answer:	We had a 12mo old in it and he sat just fine. It does sit kind of deep to keep them centered I guess, so just be aware. Our 12mo old's chin was just above the outer ring. If I could post a picture I would, but don't see how (I guess only for reviews). Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes! It sure is! Wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't Coast Guard approved. In fact, if your life vests are not approved by the Coast Guard, they can ticket you! I'd rather be safe than sorry with a great life vest for an infant.

Answer:	Not sure, as ours does not have a filter basket. We hook it to the pump and open the outlet for the nasty water to go out. It worked good once we figured out you have to fill the entire hose w water aka prime it, before it will suck anything up.

Answer:	There are not screw threads used for attaching to a pole. It fits a standard pool pole. Also, be aware that the leaf rake is rather flimsy.

Answer:	It seems to be a retainer ring that holds the net in. There is a screw that holds the ring in. I cannot tell if there is any glue under the ring.
