Question:	What diameter are the poles? I want to be sure they're thicker/sturfier than the other brands we recently bought
Answer:	Sorry about the delay in responding - I needed to get a live model. The Diameter at the end of the poles is 1/2 inches. The poles flanges out 1&1/8 from the ends. The Flange is 5/8 inch long (this stops the poles from sliding in too far). The part of the pole that slides into the ball is 1/2" long. It is slotted. (-) so that it snaps into the balls. It is secure once it snaps in. Definitely not strong enough to climb on but sturdy. The poles are made out of hard plastic. There are 45 poles of 16 inches in length.. There are 25 each plastic balls. There are 18 holes in each ball. The instruction book shows 13 possible fort builds. Although a blanket is shown in the picture - it is not include. I will try to take a video and upload it -so the way the the poles look and snap together is easier to visualize.
