Answer:	Probably by loosening the screws on the center pieces under the cap to the point that would allow the edge pieces to be taken out with the 45 degree turn or all the way where the center pieces separate from the core axis. I'm not exactly sure how this one is built but most 3x3 cube designs have the same basic designs.
