I've found that some of the problem is created because the person "driving" the train is only 3 - 3.5 years old and their hands are not as steady as a much older child or an adult. I have noticed that one of my grandsons has experienced less frustration with trains "falling" off the track as he has gotten older and his hands are more steady. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The trains are solid wood and have a good weight to them. Not sure what type of wood because they are painted with nice detail. I bought two sets of these trains and are happy with them. My four year old grand kids play with these trains and show no wear.

Numbers are assigned to the leading (front wheels), driving (middle wheels) and trailing wheels (typically located under the firebox.} The first number is the number of leading wheels (one axle), the middle number is the number of drivers and the last number is the number of trailing wheels. 4-6-0 means there are 4 leading wheels (2 axles), 6 driving wheels (3 axles) and no trailing wheels; 2-4-2 would be 2 leading wheels, 4 drivers and 2 trailing wheels. Answer:	All the curve tracks and switch tracks are double sided. Straight tracks are made single sided. You do not need double sided straight tracks to play, one sided is suffice. You need double sided on curve tracks and switch tracks, but not on straight tracks because curve tracks and switch tracks are use to turn.
