Question: Is this too difficult for a 5 year old
Answer: According to the packaging warnings, yes, it is. However, the most basic care and attention can avoid any issues. Example, do not consume the chemicals with clear labels of their toxicity. You basically grow the crystal then put it in a display case. It is not for handling. I am not the most careful individual in the world and I did not perish using the product. My cat was smart enough not to consume the product as well. However, if someone were to get ill from the product, I think that would be considered natural selection more than anything.

Answer: Crystals start growing immediately and are full size in 7-10 days, as long as the directions are followed carefully.
Question: About how long does a experiment take
Answer: For years. YEARS. It's been at least five years since I've last made these and their all missing their broken display cases but they just sit on my shelf. They are all perfectly fine, aside from maybe being pretty dusty.

Answer: You can disassemble it, though you will need to be careful. The pieces are plastic and for the most part, snap into place.

Answer: I think that an 8-year old could put this together with some assistance. My son and I put it together. He is 8 years old, but cognitively around 6 years old due to handicap. Answer: This product is made by 4M Educational Toys, but I have not been able to locate where exactly it is made. They do ship around the world but that doesn't make it made in the USA. Sorry I can't answer this question.

Answer: Hello. I did not give these away, so I can answer with ease. There are pre-drilled holes. Everything comes separate. After you paint the pots, you attach the chimes to the pots with included strings. Our pots were already painted with a base-white. I hope this helps.

Answer: 10, if I remember. Just as an FYI, I purchased this for my 6 year old granddaughter who had great fun decorating the tiles. Well worth the money.

Answer: it is paint on a tile, magnate sticks on back,,,pretty basic kiddo fun
Question: What age group would you recommend this for
Answer: I would say 5 and up. Anyone you would let use markers or paint. On some of the tiles we used that colored foil and it's "glue" for shiny designs. On some I gave my grandaughter all different sizes/colors of gems and she glued them on in her own creative way. You can also let them color the background with marker/paint and let them stamp on a shape cut from a sponge/foam dipped in their favorite color. Lots of ideas for all different ages.Hope this helps you out.

Question: Do the flowers get brown after a while
Answer: It appears to be real wool, but as it's not labeled it's impossible to know for sure. It's quite dense, very moisture wicking, fast drying and has the sane feel as a wool jacket or scarf.

Answer: You take it out of the microwave between intervals and open it up to check on the flowers. Each flower will press differently, depending on their thickness and water content. Touch each one. If it feels tacky, then it is not ready yet and should go in for another, shorter interval. The flowers should feel more like tissue paper when they are ready.
Question: does the kit include paper and envelopes
Answer: With normal pressing their may be a very slight hurbal odor, depending on what you are pressing. However, the felt is made from wool and should you not follow directions and put the press in the microwave for much too long, you could burn the felt pads after which you will certainly need to air out your house. If you follow directions, under normal usage, there will not be a problem with smell.

Question: The 48 page manual wasn't included. How can a get one
Answer: We're not positive but we doubt it. My son said that he's wired things incorrectly before and had to go back and move wires around to make the circuit work. I'm guessing that since it's a kid's toy, they probably have some safeguards in place to prevent shocks and that those safeguards would probably protect the equipment itself too.
Question: do you need to hook this up to a computer
Answer: They are almost all simple GPIO sequences and/or triggered functions. 1-6 are dedicated inputs, 7-12 are dedicated outputs, 13-14 are connected to a digital to analog converter and have been dedicated to sound. This DAC is in the chip. A-H from the program bridge. This is potentially the tricky part as multiple jumpers can be used at the same time. You must jump at least two together to do anything. As of yet I do not know if data is transmitted along these jumpers or if the hold a constant signal. Something else interesting about them, they are paired A = B, C = D, E = F, G = H. The processor package appears to be a QFN-44 and it is not equipped with internal pull-up or pull down resistors. The lack of capacitors on the inputs says they are either internal or there is a PIC or the like in the chip. My guess is that this is an 8051 processor by Nuvoton. If you know MPU or GPIO programming you should be able to make a fuzzer and figure it out quickly. If not it should be easy enough to map with a logic probe and an oscilloscope.

Answer: No. If you daisy chain them (usb-c to first ande then Display port from first to second monitor) you get the same image in both monitors. I got two monitors to display different desktops by using 2 usb-C cables, each connected to a usb-C port on the macbook pro. That way you can get up to 3 desktops (MBP display and 2 external monitors)
