There's just a small piece of plastic that can be moved over the speaker to make it 'quieter'. Not a deal breaker to me. It's made of what can best be described as tent like material. Thus far it's durable. The biggest downfall is that it's somewhat light, so my little one likes to pick it up and roll around in it. This causes the electrical circuits inside to get jumbled. So it takes sometime to manipulate it to and get everything back into place. Overall it's still a fun toy; just on the cusp of being worth the money.
