User questions & answers
Question: | is this item actually in stock? I Need 4 for my Grandson's school |
Answer: | Add them to your Amazon.com cart, are the system will let you know the current inventory level. |
Question: | can the buzzer noise be turned off |
Answer: | No, the sounds and lights work in conjunction with each other. |
Question: | Can these buzzers be mounted on a board |
Answer: | Not really. The speakers are on the bottom. They are pretty loud--my stepson put duct tape over the speakers to soften the noise some. So, if you use adhesive to mount them on fiberboard, they might still do okay. However, our grandson has had them since last Christmas and they've survived as four single buzzers. |
Question: | does this let you know who hit the button first |
Answer: | Since each button is independent, there is no precise way to determine which button is hit first. Whenever two or more buttons are hit at about the same time, it is up to the judges' eyes and ears to determine which button was hit first and for the judges to rule accordingly. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How does it help with sight words |
Answer: | It can. It is the root (ending sound) of words and then you change the beginning sound to create more words. Example: you pull out -at and spin a 3, you have to come up with 3 words that rhyme with -at. To make it more challenging, I have my boys spin the spinner and select that number of pieces and then they have to write that same number of words for each piece. This game helps with phonics, spelling, sight words, etc...it is sturdy and is a great tool to make learning fun. My boys are in 1st and 3rd grade. |

If you are using the bears for really small children who tend put things in their mouth the smallest bear in this set will be a choke hazard, so they would need to be well supervised when using them. User questions & answers
Question: | What ages range is this for |
Answer: | That would depend upon the child. For most it would be grades 1 to 4 or 5 since it has addition and subtraction and then multiplication and division. Early learners might do the addition before school and those with challenges learning could use it as extra practice at any age. . . Our 12 year old daughter with some learning issues is still enjoying it. |
Question: | Does it for sure have an untimed feature |
Answer: | Hello Cordelia....I don't understand your question. The Minute Math electronic flash card states that it has three skill levels. I am not sure how the item is played because it is sealed. It requires 3 AAA batteries & it is used to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication & division. I hope that this is helpful...Jen |
Question: | I would like to drill a student on the 3 times table only. And not with a missing number. Just, for example, 3x4, 3x8, etc. Is this possible? How |
Answer: | No. You only can do multiplication/division with a missing number. You can control the difficulty but not the specific numbers. |
Question: | Does it use head phones |
Answer: | I do not see a place to plug anything in. Sorry. |

User questions & answers
Question: | are they all different sizes |
Answer: | Yes, the bears are three different sizes: papa, mama, and baby. I use the bears to distinguish the concept of big and small with preschoolers. I also laminated the cards, to keep longer. |
Question: | Do any of the included activities deal with multiplication or division. I am looking for a fun way to teach my advanced 3 year old these skills |
Answer: | The activity cards does not include multiplication or division activities but it comes with the bears and coloured plates that you could use to do your own activity. For example put 3 bears in each of the coloured plates and get little one to count how many bears there are by 3s. Or give him/her 3 bears and some plates and get him/her to divide and put the bears on the plates. It's a very versatile set. |
Question: | Do you think this would be too easy for a just turned 6 year old that can do basic addition, subtration, multiplication and count to 100? thanks |
Answer: | It depends on how you plan on using the kit. If your planning on adjusting the activities to his education level then it would be a good addition. The bears are easily adaptable but the rest if the packet is geared towards those just learning counting, sizes and patterns. For example you could take the pattern cards and had him continue the pattern for 3-4 more times. The colored and numbered die could be used in another board game that usually comes with the dot dice. The spinner can be used in any made up game. The large number cards could have each bear represent 10 and count that way. You just have to be creative. |

Kids will have a terrific time learning math skills as they avoid the hilarious pitfalls of the Sum Swamp. Designed for two to four players, this game is sure to develop and sharpen beginning math skills, because the only way to escape the mire is to roll the dice and add and subtract your way around the board. If you're lucky, you'll be able to take the Crocodile Short Cut, although sooner or later everyone gets caught in the Endless Loop. Landing on special squares, such as Even or Odds or a number space, makes things even more interesting; you could get stuck for quite a while. The best part is that this is a game kids can grow with--children 5 to 6 will find it a learning challenge, and older kids can play for fun. The game is an Oppenheim Best Toy award winner. --Marianne Painter

User questions & answers
Question: | I’m reading reviews I want to know is this the newer version or older version reviews seem to state there is a mistake in the newer version |
Answer: | I have played this many times with kids and haven't found any mistake. As such, I'd suspect, if there was a old/new edition -- with the new one containing errors -- it has been corrected in the game being sold now |
Question: | what age group is this recommended for |
Answer: | Even though the box reads "ages 5 & up", I find it difficult to believe that a child over the age of 7 would enjoy it. That said, for the price, it's a nice game for preschool (age 4) thru 1st grade, IMO. I agree with Yvonne R. You won't be sorry. |
Question: | is the dice with only 6 numbers really effective in kid's practice of addition or subtraction |
Answer: | You could always use a 10- or 12-sided die if they are confident with numbers through 6. |
Question: | has the loop exit problem mentioned in reviews from 2016 hence been fixed |
Answer: | I placed my order November 2018 and there is no issue. You can exit the loop by either landing on the exit, or the 3 and 5 spaces (assuming you get a plus when you roll the operations die.) In other words, they are placed correctly on my board. |
