Answer:	it should ,but yor may degrade the vhf signal. I would just get a small am/ fm antenna. u can get small ones that mount insight or ones that are like a tape.they work ok

Answer:	You are looking at a great VHF unit but none of the cables come out of the bottom of the unit. I can only guess which one you are referring to but all cables are accessed from the back of the housing.

Answer:	Yes I use a quick connect for the antenna on my boat. I recommend using a stainless quick connect because the plastic ones are not strong enough for 6'-8' or larger VHF antennas.

Answer:	Yes the antenna comes with the coax cable, is at least 15' long, and the cable goes into the antenna as is (but if needed it is easy to cut the cable and add a male/female PL259 connector). I seem to remember that the connector at the end of the cable was initially off.

Answer:	Victor, We don't use these in an offshore application. We use these antenna on our autos and boats near or on the Mississippi River in NE MO. We don't have a long range open line of sight, like an offshore use. We have obstructions, (hills, bluffs and tree tops and the river winds through the country side.) We can communicate averaging 6-10 miles. With our longest line of sight being 1-2 miles, these work well for our need. We mount these on the highest points of our vessels, that is what you want the - least amount of interference. I hope this will help you in your decision making. They are a good product and I would recommend them.

Answer:	All the ones I'm familiar with have the antenna coax cable factory fastened to the antenna base.

Answer:	The antenna is a 36" solid stainless steel rod. There is some flex in it but if bent over too far it would kink or possibly break. I rough water is can whip around pretty good so don't mount it too close to something that it could slap against.

Answer:	No, you have to solder the end. A small craft pencil soldering tool and a small amount of solder will do it. Takes about 10 minutes. Make sure the braided shield does not touch the hard wire. See a You Tube video on replacing the end on coaxial cable.

Answer:	The mounting base collar or ferrule is made from plastic on the 5206 on the 5101 it is stainless steel. It has nothing to do with the "range performance", it is personal preference if you have a chrome mounting bracket......

Answer:	If it was the same it would be 5206-N! The N means it should be used with a nylon ratchet ferrule and the C means it should be used with a stainless steel ratchet ferrule.

Answer:	As long as the mounting holes on your TV are in a 'square' arrangement, i.e. 400x400, you can rotate it to your hearts delight! If they are not, then you might have a little trouble, but it is still a possibility.

Answer:	I have a LG I measured the mount there is an eight inch space in main part of mount mine is mounted with the extra brackets too the very top of the TV at sixteen inch apart I had to lay the TV on a flat surface to figure out the jigsaw puzzle but it should work
