Answer:	The egg is about 7 inches long. My 5 yr old grandson was thrilled to dig out the dinosaurs. If the child is small sone adult assistance might be needed to get started.
Question:	Are these a hard or soft plastic
Answer:	They are tiny. Like 1 to 2 inches. there may be a few that were bigger but I got this for my 3 year old grandson and its definitely for an older child simply because this makes a mess! But I enjoyed it with him because he loves dinos. This is a great outdoor project. Can be done indoors but you'll need to create a canvas to do this on. I hope this helps.
