Answer:	Maybe, if your wire is 12 gauge and up, yes. 10 gauge or less, no. Product description says 12-18, I would stick with that. Sounds like you might have 10 gauge, some of the high end Monster for Main speakers is 10 gauge. Will banana plugs work for you?, they tend to take the larger gauges.

Answer:	The inside standard female banana diameter is .14" , the Gold male-plugs are in diameter .18" they won't fit the standard female, the spring bows out a bit more . You need the 8pcs gold female plugs that are .20" in diameter, $11.99 on Amazon

Answer:	Ten gauge wire is ~2.6 mm. The hole in the plug is at least 3 mm. My guess is that you should solder the wire in addition to using the single set screw to make a reliable contact.

Answer:	I can see no rating on them but based on the construction (I am using them) they will admit at least a #12 wire which is good for 20 amps and the constrution would easily support that.

Answer:	Hello Yvonne, Yes, these can be used on most receivers and most speakers. You just need to be sure that your receiver and speakers have binding posts instead of push-type connections. Binding posts look like barrels with a hole in the middle that screw up and down. Push type connections look like red and black plastic tabs with a very small hole that opens when you push the tab. Answer:	yes. I used them with Monster cable heavy speaker wire, plenty of room to make connection. They are excellent quality.

Answer:	I have one older set of speakers that I used these with and the do fit--just. Pretty tight and not sure best use as if the spring clip breaks or no longer has enough tension will not work later w bare wire. If you want to use connectors rather than bare wire get "pin" style connectors instead.

Question:	How do you connect these to a 12 volt "go Box" cover
Answer:	I do not know what a "go box" is.
Question:	When you disconnect the plugs, isn't it easy to short them by touching each other? looks like the whole piece is the same conductor
Answer:	If I understand your question correctly, once the plugs are disconnected from the receiver,there is no signal going through them, therefore no danger of short. You shouldn't be connecting or disconnecting the speakers with the unit on. Actually more likely to short out trying to install using bare wire connections instead of banana clips. The clips cover the bare wire so no chance of a stray strand or two shorting across the back of your component.
Question:	I have used open screw plugs for years; are there any substantial advantages to the closed screw type
Answer:	The big advantage is when installed correctly, you won't have any chance of stray wires sticking out. So then less chance of shorting the wires. On 14 gauge and smaller wire, it shouldn't be that hard to do to install correctly, easily. On 12 gauge wire, the maximum recommended for the monoprice plugs, the insulation doesn't fit very well into the body of the plug, so you just have to strip more insulation off to get it to go easier.One possible downside to them is that the wires stick straight out the back instead of coming out of the side. If you have wall mount speakers with a narrow clearance, that could be an issue. But you could get the open screw style to fix that. At the receiver, it was beneficial to me.
Question:	How do you connect these (closed and open type) to the speaker wire
Answer:	First I unscrew the banana connector, splice the wire and stick the open wire through the hole and fold it over the threading, then I screw the banana connector back together. I use two pairs of vise grips as it gets a little tough screwing them back together by hand since the wire catches the threads on the banana connectors. Hope this helped

Answer:	You can't replace RCA plugs with banana plugs. Two different animals. RCA carries the signal in the center plug and ground on the outer portion. Banana plugs are just one connection, not two.

Answer:	I got home today and ohm'd them out. Yes they are conductive from the gold banana plug to the silver colored metal jacket. Again they fit pretty snug into the banana plug receptacles on the amp and they are far enough apart I'm not worried about them getting shorted. Unless your dropping metal on them or something like that they should be fine.

Answer:	When new, the plugs are somewhat of a tight fit. Hold the AVR and push firmly. They will fit.

Answer:	I tried it on a flip style and they were too big. The measurement of the plug is 0.15" or 3.85mm at the tip, at the widest 0.20" or 5.3mm. Your flip connectors may be larger than my example, a quick msr of the max gauge wire you can use will answer.

It should fit as the multimeters use standard banana plug socket innerds, but for years commercial test leads have no longer used bare plugs because of the hazards associated with accidental contact which would be shockingly dangerous if working with high voltage (yes, these meters are routinely used in high voltage electrical applications - my meter carries a CAT III rating for use with 1000V, CAT IV for 600 V). BUT, I mainly use my meter on ham radio stuff and sometimes on cars - all low voltage DC applications.I just ordered these to make a current (amperage) test rig with Anderson Power Pole sockets. Again, I stress that I am working with voltage running significantly less than 30V (sometimes 24 V systems in aviation or other automotive systems), but I will wrap the plug bodies in heat shrink insulation to minimize likelihood of contact.
Question:	I've read that these plugs can accept 12-18 AWG wire; however, I'd like to know what you all have used/what is working best
Answer:	I use 12 gauge on my fronts and 14 on my surrounds with no issues. The 12 gauge was a little difficult to get wrapped back around and then screw down, but I really don't know of any banana plug that would we easier, without going to the kind where they use a screw to fasten. This is the easier, cleaner look in my opinion!
Question:	The description says: "Can accept bare wire and spades. " How do you connect spades
Answer:	As PCKIDZ replied, this is a two function connector.The banana plugs are pushed into the hole in the end.If you unscrew the barrel which is knurled, the smaller shaft is exposed, where you can slip on your spade lug and then tighten the knurled shaft to secure the lug.
Question:	whats the differance between open screw and closed screw banna plugs
Answer:	"Open Screw" type plug (side wire) allows for daisy chaining or stacking additional banana plugs to the back. This is desirable in DJ applications if you're running a speakers in parallel and if your amp can handle the low impedances. Closed Screw type has the wire at the back.
