Answer:	If you open your Alexa app you can add this device. It doesn’t really do a lot like other devices I’ve linked to my Alexa such a my Ring. It only shows up for you to click or select that device and find out if the door is open or closed. It doesn’t alert you if the door gets opened which is a bummer.

Answer:	I have mine outside on our driveway gate. It has only been there a month, but in that time lived through a week of snow and ice with a low of -2. We have also had some very heavy rains. Only thing left is our 100+ degree summer days. So far though, the answer is yes for me.
