User questions & answers

Question: Is this a board game or a card game? how does it compare with the chronology card games from buffalo (out of print), and another from fundex
Answer: So far the span of history cards have ranged from like 38ad to present. Have not completed all of the cards yet though.
Question: What is the time span of history in chronology
Answer: None of the cards are inappropriate. This is a good family game, however a knowledge of history would be helpful when playing. Younger kids could get frustrated simply because they have not yet had the education.
Question: Are the cards at all inappropriate for elementary aged children
Answer: The game was made in 1996, and I would guess the most recent event to be as recent as 1994, but it may not be as recent as the 90s
Question: When was this made and what year is the most recent event in this game
Answer: I don't know about cartoon world puzzle pieces, but this puzzle did come with a poster. It was a fun puzzle to do.

Product features

Answer: Yes you can play with 2 players. If you know the 90s you'll get through most of the deck quickly
Question: What is the correct age range for this game? The range in the description says "14 months to 8 years" which can't be right

It could be 8+, but I doubt anyone born in the 2010’s would know a single question. Perfect for Gen Xers or old (early 1980’s) millennials who lived and loved 90’s pop culture.

Question: Can you purchase additional cards
Answer: 4+ years of age
Question: What ages enjoy this game
Answer: There’s no official rules in the booklet for solitaire play. I can’t really see a good way to create that mechanism yourself, either, so that the ghosts would move in a challenging and, let’s face it, unbiased manner.
Question: How many can play
Answer: I play it with just my daughter all the time and it’s always a blast. Of course, if more play, there’s an added dimension of collaboration among players using the ghosts that you don’t get with just two players. But it’s still very playable and fun.
Question: What is the age range for this
Answer: Only way I can think of is contact the manufacturer.

  • Recommended for 2 to 8 players, ages 14+ - Great family game!

User questions & answers

Question: Is it 14+ for difficulty or content
Answer: Both are the same game. The packaging is the only difference.
Question: Can You Explain The Different In Sizes
Answer: Yes
Question: What kind of batteries does the buzzer take
Answer: no
Question: What's the difference between the white box and the green box packaging
Answer: yes two or more can play

Product features

Object of the Game

Be the first player to move your pawn from Start to Finish by racing opponents - and the random timer - to say the last word. All players shout out words that fit the Subject and Letter cards in each round. The last player to call out a correct item before the timer buzzes scores.

Getting Started

  • Place the two game boards and timer in the center of the playing area and turn on the timer.
  • Have each player choose a pawn and place them at start.
  • Separate the Subject and Letter cards, shuffle them, and place them in the designated place on the board.
  • Each player take on subject card and keep it hidden.

Playing The Game

  • Flip over the top letter card. If a player can think of a word that fits their subject card, they place the card down, hit the timer and say a word that fits.
  • All other players must blurt out words that fit the subject until the buzzer rings. The last player to say a correct word wins the round!
  • For Hot Potato cards, players must take turns in a clockwise order instead of all blurting out at once.

Winning The Game

  • You advance your pawn once space on the game board for every round that you win.
  • The first player to advance to the finish space wins the game!

Strategy

If you knew how much time you had each round, you could try and wait until the last moment to blurt out words in hopes of winning. BUT, the Last Word timer is unpredictable, so just keep blurting out words and hope for the best!

Challenges

Inevitably, one of your friends will try and pull a fast one and slip in a completely bogus word or play a Subject card without having a word in mind. It is the group's job to keep them in line! Any response can be challenged by the group and majority rules. If the bogus word was the last word spoken, the last valid response wins the round.

Buffalo Games iMAgiNiff Game

Buffalo Games

Based on 170 reviews Check latest price

Product description

That iMAgiNiff was developed by two brothers (in Australia) makes perfect sense, because this is a board game you'll want to share with family and friends. It's simple to play. A set of names is chosen, usually the name of every player plus those of several absent friends. When it's your turn, one name is selected as the subject of the question. You pick a card--one of hundreds--that poses a question and six possible answers (for example, "Imaginiff _____ were a crime. Which would he/she be?"). Read the question aloud, plugging in the subject's name. Then read out the six answers (in this case, they range from "homicide" to "indecent exposure"). Each player picks an answer to fit the subject; those who have picked the most popular answer move forward. But though you win by advancing, winning is obviously not the point: laughter and arguments are. The questions on the cards range from the ridiculous ("Imaginiff _____ were a body part.") to the provocative ("Imaginiff _____ had to decide which of the following values is most important."). The game is a fun cross between Scruples and True Colors. --Elisa Murray

From the Manufacturer

Imaginiff is the hilarious party game where your opinion matters and you find out what people really think of you. Assuming you want to know, of course. The object of the game is simple; Just imagine what the other players are most like. Keep choosing the most popular answers to win the game. iMAgiNiff your boss were an animal? Would he be a Sheep dog? or maybe a Bull?

  • More than 1 million sold
  • Making people laugh for 10 years
  • All new questions and new pick-a-player cards
  • Colorful cards and dry-erase board
  • A sure hit for any party or family gathering

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of dry erase marker should I use on the gameboard
Answer: Sorry I cannot. I sent it to my granddaughter.
Question: Is this the purple or red edition of the game? Thanks
Answer: Hello, two AAA batteries are required, but not included.

User questions & answers

Question: Would this version be better for middle schoolers than the regular version of the game, or would it be too easy
Answer: There are plenty of teases that still stump my husband and myself at the higher level challenges.
Question: How long does it take to play
Answer: Hi Juliann- we actually have just been using the cards around the table after dinner! It’s been a lot of fun and you can stop when you want...sorry it’s not the answer you were looking for...
Question: After going through all 128 cards, is the game still fun or challenging? Since you already know the trick
Answer: Its very challenging but my kids had started memorizing some of the answers and we dont play much anymore because its not fair to have a 7, 9 and 11 year old to play together.
Question: Are most of the cards in this game different from the cards in the regular version
Answer: Yes but still for much older children..... an example is there is as group of card where they show a photo of what a hair or certain cell is in the human body, and unless your child has been in a biology class at a junior high level... theres no way. Weve tried playing this game multiple times and its just too difficult. Ive got three kids of various ages and they all hate it.

User questions & answers

Question: Why is this game
Answer: difficulty, I would say 10 rather than 14. I played it with my grandsons, before 10 they had a hard time having the words start with the same letter. Probably 14+ you probably wouldn't give breaks to the youngsters. This is a great game - played it in a breakfast room at a motel, the clerk thought the buzzer was kids playing in the pool, stormed in there an no one was in the pool and then came into the breakfast room laughing at herself.
