User questions & answers

Question: How many points to you get if you get the question right? It only tells you how many points to delete if you get the question wrong
Answer: My wife and I have been using question games and books for over a year. We usually spend 45 minutes a day asking and answering questions. It has brought us closer together and is exciting to find out something new even though we've been married over 50 years. Sometimes the simplest question can lead to major discussions. Also check out books of questions some having over 4000 questions. Some questions are similar but that's OK because people change over time and it keeps you current with who your partner really is.
Question: Are the questions multiple choice
Answer: Yes. Pretty clean
Question: How many players does it take
Answer: This game works for both married and unmarried couples. There are people in a relationship for under a year and know each other well enough to fully play the game. If you take a look at a few example cards that we have in the image section of the listing and feel that you guys can answer a few of them, then the game will probably work well for you guys!
Question: What happens after you answer all the questions throw it away
Answer: Unfortunately not at the moment. We'll announce it if we do release an expansion pack in the near future.

User questions & answers

Question: Where do I buy the extention for more people to play
Answer: Thanks for asking! We have sold out of the Foodie Expansion but have more on order and they will be for sale exclusively here on Amazon in late December or early January!
Question: I'm 78. can i still play? what about when i turn
Answer: It's definitely for all ages! I love it and I'm 50. My son created it when he was 7 and his grandparents love it and they are in their 80s.
Question: I saw on a youtube video explaining the game of Taco vs Burrito that there is an expansion pack. Where can one buy the expansion pack
Answer: Great Question - The Expansion Pack was for Kickstarter although we may be selling it via Amazon in the coming months. Thanks
Question: Is it made in USA
Answer: Thanks so much for asking! The product is made in China and I'd love to give you a little background that probably is too much information but thought some people might be interested as to how a 7-year-old made manufacturing decisions. There are card game manufactures in the US and most have extremely high minimum order quantities so when Alex (the then 7-year-old inventor) was first starting out with his Kickstarter he couldn't meet their minimum order quantities. We found an amazing company in China (The company's name is Bang Wee - Alex loved the name) who was willing to do smaller quantities and they were super supportive even though they knew he was only 7 years old. Since that initial Kickstarter the game has really taken off and Alex can order the larger quantities that a US manufacturer requires but he would still be a small fish for manufacturers who often work with big toy companies. He also knows that without Bang Wee he might not have ever been able to bring this product to life and they have been so good to him so he's decided to stay with that original manufacturer...although we make a point to review that every year and this year will go back to some US manufacturers to see if we can find a good fit. Also, finding manufacturers who work well with kids will be key (Alex is 9 now) as many people are not used to working with kids in manufacturing and thus Bang Wee has really shined in that regard. Also with the potential tariffs going in effect this month, Alex is learning a ton of about international trade which is such a great experience for him too. I mean how better to understand how tariffs work than to pay them yourself. We will update this Q&A if we do switch to a US Manufacturer.

User questions & answers

Question: does the insert fit sleeved cards
Answer: They will not fit with sleeves on them. My solution, rather than ditch the insert, was to make cuts into the plastic corners of the card wells. This way I could bend the walls of the card wells a little bit to give me the little bit of room that I needed to have the sleeved cards easily fit. Only takes about 2-3 minutes, keeps the insert, and lets the sleeved cards fit perfectly. Tried to attach a photo, but Amazon doesn't allow it for answers to questions.
Question: I just received this game and all of the cards and instructions are in Chinese. Anyone else have this problem
Answer: I have the same problem. The first order was in Chinese. I filed and got a replacement. It just arrived and is also in Chinese.
Question: I heard that this game was already out of print? Why is that
Answer: It is now back in print as of today. The prices here on Amazon should be more competitive now.
Question: If you could only get this or the original 7 Wonders, and you will mostly only get to play with one other person, which would you buy
Answer: 7 Wonders does have a 2 player variation, but it is nothing compared to 7 Wonders Duel!! Duel changes a number of elements from the original 7 Wonders, making it more cut throat. Everything is connected - how much resources cost and how much money you can get from discarding is dependent on the cards you and your opponent have already played. There are a number of new functions that allow you to directly block your opponent - from discarding cards they have already played to taking their money. It is super fun - I love 7 Wonders, but I love Duel more - to the extent that I wish they made a Duel variety for more than 2 players. I would definitely point you towards Duel! That being said, there are ways to make the 2-player variation in 7 Wonders more exciting - playing with multiple boards per player is a lot of fun!

Carcassonne Board Game Standard

Z-Man Games

Based on 5 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Carcassonne is the perfect introduction to the modern world of board games. With its simple rules (place a tile, place a deeply, score points), should be part of everyone's collection.

  • 12 x River tiles
  • 1 x scoreboard
  • 40 x followers in 5 colours
  • 5 x abbots in 5 colours
  • 1 x rulebook
  • 1 x supplementary sheet

  • Completely redesigned rulebook to make learning the game easier
  • Introduces the Abbot mini expansion and a new version of the river
  • Game and expansions have sold over 10 million copies worldwide
  • 2 – 5 players

User questions & answers

Question: Between the 2nd edition and the older edition which one is recommended for beginners
Answer: The games are pretty much the same, with the exception of new art and the Abbot expansion in the 2014 edition. Gameplay should be the same, and either version will provide the same experience for the beginner.
Question: Is this compatible with all the extensions from the older version? Will the art clash
Answer: Yes, it goes great with the extension. Especially sense it's very similar to the older version with one slight difference which the addition of the abbot piece. The art will not clash at all sense it's literally the same game pieces just made with newer and modern materials.
Question: So Carcassonne: New Edition or Carcassonne Big Box 5? Which one should I get? I've played New Edition and had a blast
Answer: I had the same question. For me, it came down to price. You can pick up the New Edition for about 1/3 the cost of the Big Box 5, and that also comes with The River mini-expansion (part of Big Box 5) and the abbott mini-expansion. Other expansions can be added to spice up the game as needed and as you can afford. For us, the New Edition is still fun to play without any additional expansions, even after 6 months.
Question: This is the base game that is not an extension and does not require anything else to play, correct
Answer: Correct. This game is a newly redesigned version of the full base game Carcassonne, done by Z-Man games. It includes everything that was in the previous version of Carcassonne, including The River expansion. It also includes a new expansion - The Abbot - that was not in the previous version. Nothing else is required to play this game.

SEQUENCE- Original SEQUENCE Game with Folding Board, Cards and Chips by Jax ( Packaging may Vary )

Jax

Based on 18 reviews Check latest price

Product description

It's fun, it's challenging, it's exciting, it's SEQUENCE! Play a card from your hand, and place a chip on a corresponding space on the game board. When you have five in a row, it's a SEQUENCE. Learn to block your opponents or remove their chips, and watch out for the Jacks - they're wild! With a little strategy and luck, you'll be a winner. For 2-12 players, ages 7 and up.

With touches of canasta, rummy, and poker, this game could easily become a Friday-night favorite. The object is to get a "sequence," meaning a row of five poker-like chips on the game board. The board itself depicts lines of face-up playing cards. Players place their "crowning" chips on top of the card pictures, and can form sequences by using strategy and knowing which Sequence cards to keep or discard. Since forethought, luck, and backup plans are the keys to winning, this game is probably too sophisticated for children under 7 years old. (But young ones can team up with adults.) Included are 104 playing cards and 50 crowning chips in each color: red, blue, and green. --Gail Hudson

From the Manufacturer

  • Easy enough for children, challenging for adults!
  • Exciting gameplay develops STEM skills like strategy
  • For 2-12 players, ages 7 and up

User questions & answers

Question: Can you cross over one sequence using one of the chips in the first one to make the second? Or... can you create a second sequence by adding one on
Answer: No. Lo siento!
Question: What is the size of the board? Do the chips look the same on both sides
Answer: I would not add them to cards against humanity. Some cards could work for the way c.a.h. works, but majority would not.
Question: What size is the board
Answer: I was wondering how inappropriate the innuendos are? About 4 years ago I would of said no way in heck! However my 12 year olds come home and there seems to be NITHING I can say without them saying “that’s what she said.” It doesn’t matter if I get mad or laugh. It’s almost second nature and gets really annoying as I can’t say anything without it being taking dirty. Even though they don’t say it in front of grandparents they all start laughing and I know exactly what’s going on. What’s one of the dirtiest things you have seen in your game play? I have a feeling middle schoolers would kick our butts at this game.
Question: can I purchase more game chips
Answer: Yes, I am 56 and played it with my daughter who is 26 and a neice 25. They did have to explain a few things. I seen this game played on Facebook with my neighbor and her family. It was a fun game but not if you were religious

User questions & answers

Question: how many people can play
Answer: It states on the box 2-4 players but I have played the game with 8 people. We just needed more chips. (brother-in-law has 2 copies of the game, I use extra poker chips at my house)
Question: age group
Answer: The box states that the game is for ages 10 and up. In my mind, 10 is an okay age for this game, but only if the ten year old knows how to play chess already. That is to say, it's best if the player is capable of thinking ahead, no matter what age the player. If this is the case, then the game is for ages 10 and up.
Question: Are the chips plastic or cardboard? (I've played with plastic chips, but my friend says that he has a copy with cardboard, which I would not want
Answer: There are two editions of the game. The original (as seen in the pictures) contains poker style chips. Very nice high quality hefty weight for a board game. Then the "Golden Geek 2014" Game of the Year edition came out. These contain plastic and cardboard made chips. You can tell the difference in editions by looking for the "Golden Geek" award logo in the bottom left corner of the front of the box. If you happen to have the original don't let go of it.
Question: I've heard Splendor referred to as a "filler." I'm concerned the game will grow stale quickly, in terms of replay value, how much do u think there is
Answer: (A) Re-play-ability: This game does well with replayability because the cards & victory point tiles come out quite randomly, and also because different people will utilize different strategies. It's popular, so there's a reasonable chance that, in future, they will create an "expansion" adding more depth &/or variety, as well. (B) Filler: "Filler" is a phrase that Gamers (meaning, not average joes who occasionally play games, but People Who Game ... A Lot) use. Fillers are quick (always under 1 hour) and easy (compared to brain-burners like chess). They have an important place in the gaming repertoire. If you've just played 3-9 hours of a really hard game and half the people are looking for an easier, quicker game to play before going home (at which time the other half will stay for ANOTHER brain-burning, lengthy game), that's when you use fillers. Or when half of the people came an hour early and want to sneak a mini-game in before the others arrive. /// If 3-9 hour long brain-burner games were food, they'd be a Texas-sized steak cooked in butter or a deep fried candy bar. Filler games are more like a single scoop of fruit sorbet, a side salad, or a handful of pretzels. Some people live on fillers alone; Gamers (the kind of people who use words like "filler") partake of both. /// "Gamers" do games the way extreme athletes do sports, so the mega-jock could call a Sunday bike ride around the waterfront "fluff," but that wouldn't remove its pleasure (and even exercise value) to a regular person. In other words, please don't let the language of Gamers throw you off.

User questions & answers

Question: If I end the round with 10-13 tricks, do I still get the points for any turns won with a
Answer: Yes. Take your one point (or potentially two points, if the opponent also played a 7) as soon as you win the trick.
Question: Would this game be good for an adolescent-aged kid (or an adult) as kind of an introduction to Bridge? I found bridge hard to learn. Would this help
Answer: Yes. With a clear rulebook with good examples this game will be easier to learn. Plus there are only 3 suits and two players, so less to track overall. It will take some time to get good at the game though so don't get frustrated.
Question: Whats the difference between the basic and premium pack
Answer: First I've heard of it. I even checked BGG and there is nothing about a premium addition. Probably just a seller trying to make his product sound better to get your busines.
Question: what is a trick-taking game
Answer: It is a game in which different cards have different values. Players display their cards one at a time--an action referred to as a trick. Of the cards displayed, that with the highest value wins, that is to say, takes the trick--they player to whom the highest value card belongs collects the cards displayed by all the other players on that trick. This action is repeated for the number of cards held by the player. Look up the rules of bridge, hearts, spades, etc. to get a fuller description of a trick taking game.

User questions & answers

Question: Can 3 people play
Answer: Yes! The game includes a cooperative mode that works for 3 people. You couldn't play competitive though, you would need more than 4 for that.
Question: Can you play this version with 2 players or is there a separate “2 player” version you have to get
Answer: This is the only version, so it works for all player counts!
Question: Can you play wavelength over zoom/google hangouts? would all players need a copy of the game
Answer: I have played this remotely on tabletop simulator and it works really well. However on zoom/hangouts I think it'd only work if the person that owned the game is the cluegiver. The guessing team also needs to adjust a dial to make their guess but I suppose alternatively they could say a % where the extreme right is 100%, middle 50%, and 0% is extreme left.
Question: Why is wavelength ages 14 and up
Answer: Games with higher age requirements can be manufactured without certain testing/certification requirements, such as being lead-free, choking hazard, etc.
