Answer:	Apologies for the delay in responding. It's been some time since I put this dollhouse together so I'm not sure as to what screws you're referring. But in general the way to deal with a screw that does not easily thread is to remove the screw, reinsert it and then tighten the screw by hand until you can no longer get it to move. If the screw seems to be misaligned you would again remove it and attempt to realign it as you screw it back in by hand. Once you have it straight and properly aligned you would then begin to tighten the screw with a screwdriver. You should also apply light pressure to the screwdriver (in the same direction as the screw) but not enough to where you feel as though you are forcing the screw.

Answer:	The assembled bookshelf is 24 inches wide and 35 inches high. Keep in mind that the top shelf has the racing car and if you choose to place books on that shelf you will not see the racing car. Also, the bottom two shelves do not accommodate tall books. This bookshelf worked out for me because it was for my grandson's room when he comes to visit. If this is for your child's room, I would look for something larger. It is very colorful and a nice quality. Hope this helps.

It doesn't show up on the picture but there's a piece that goes across the back of the bench at the top that is about an 1 1/2" wide. I'm not sure how secure it would be though.
