Question:	Is this large enough to fit a standard size folder
Answer:	I don't think so. It's smaller than a regular backpack. A standard folder would probably be a little too tall for it. It was a perfect carry-on for my 4 year old. It held his kindle, ear phones, a change of clothes, water bottle and snacks.

Answer:	It is velcro, it shows over the straps, but I turned it around. It covers the bat symbol but it's can stay, and does for every day use with my almost 3 year old.

The bodice is a stretchy velvet that my daughter prefers to any of her nylon/acetate clothes. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this dress. (We've had it for more than six months, it gets near-daily use, and it still looks pretty good.)
