Question:	Is the paint on the blocks non toxic? I am concerned about lead based or toxic paint because my child puts it in her mouth
Answer:	Melissa and Doug's official email responses posted by other inquiring parents neither confirm or denies but reiterates their commitment to constant testing and audit of their toys from their overseas production facilities. My main concern is their prior recalls in Canada for elevated levels of Barium which is a heavy metal. There was no recall in the US as our threshold is higher than the Canadian standard. To be fair recalls for any manufacturer across any industry are common and M&D now adheres to the stricter standard for the US as well, however, I have seen a fair amount of their toys with paint chip even after light usage. My own collection of toys for my 15 mo old have been retired as I do not want him ingesting any paint chip period. And their lack of response to my email inquiry after receiving a defective set has made me purchase other brands for my baby's toys.
Question:	What is the recommended age for this product
Answer:	I would say between 6-36 months or 6 months to 3 years. My 2 year old loves it.

Answer:	In the Product Details of the page, it says, "Origin: China." I don't know if that turns you off, but it definitely helped teach my 22-month old how to say "oval," "diamond," and "hexagon." Yes, hexagon! But he spends more time making towers out of the blocks than fitting the blocks in the holes.

Answer:	My son is 18mo now. I got it for him when he was 14mo old. This was perfect for his age, and I have a feeling he will continue playing with this toy for at least a year. At first, he loved opening and closing the easy locks, but then learned to open the rest, and now he likes to show me where which animals are hiding and we try to learn numbers off of it. Like with any toy, he'll take a break from it for a few days/weeks, and then it starts interesting him again. So I'd say it's appropriate for ages 1 to 3 when it comes to skill development.

Answer:	No. This is some of the sturdier toy food I have seen. Some of them I can't squeeze at all, but there are a couple that if a child was persistent enough, they could probably smash. The majority of the food is fairly tough plastic though. It's some of the round hollow ones that have the potential to be crush-- but you would have to be trying to crush them to do it.

Answer:	My two-year-old still puts lots of things in her mouth, too, but none of these toys are big enough to cause her to choke.

Question:	Do the pins make a lot of noise when they are knocked down? We live in an apartment and I don't want to bother our downstairs neighbors with noisy pin
Answer:	You are a very considerate neighbor!! The pins are made out of a hard plastic so the probably do make noise. I wouldn’t say a lot... you could set them up on a rug if you think it’s too noisy!
Question:	will they stand in grass
Answer:	Hi Meg! These adorable animal bowling pins may stand on level ground but are probably best on a wooden floor or sidewalk. Here's to lots of bowling fun!
Question:	What is the intended animal of the blue pin? It looks like a dog but the red pin is clearly the dog
Answer:	I would say the blue one is intended to be a floppy ears bunny because the ears are long and narrow.
Question:	Are the bottoms of the pins weighted a bit so they aren't so lightweight that they are hard to keep standing
Answer:	The pins stand up easy even while on my carpet. They are made of rubber like material making them easy to stand and knock down.
