Answer:	The board was really disappointing to us. It may well be some bristle in it but we think it is not a full bristle board. We had the same problem. Went back to Winmau Bristle boards. They cost a little more but last much longer. Just our opinion, for what it's worth
Question:	If you move the number ring does that mean you have to re-hang the board every time? Can you do it with what's included

Question:	Did they fix the misprints in the rulebook, restore the missing pieces, and add the additional monopoly card that should be included in the base game
Answer:	The second edition of the board game is a nice game, full of different dynamics. It is excellent, but it may take quite a long time to finish a game and it is fairly complex and thereby a bit daunting for the casual gamer. The board game uses beautiful cards with drawings. The drawings and events make it more book-oriented. The board game features the Wildlings, but the Daenerys and her allies are not a playable house in the original game. Lastly, the event cards add a random element. GoT: Risk is simpler than the board game. It has fewer different types of dynamic (it is first and foremost centered on conquest), but it is more volatile than the board game. You don't have ships like in the board game, but you have ports that allow you to travel easily across the board (e.g. reminiscing Stannis showing up at the Wall...). You have a simple Skirmish mode of the game (essentially fairly old school Risk) and a slightly more complex (but still easy) Dominion mode. I recommend the Dominion mode as it allows you to use Action/Maester cards and characters with special abilities unique to your house. Even the Dominion mode is fairly easy to understand and the overview cardboards are very handy. All in all, this means GoT:Risk is easier to learn and it is easier to find other players to play with (the game takes a 10 to 15 minutes explanation). It is more for the casual gamer who loves GoT. This still has the epic sweep of the show though, because each house gets a seat of power that you have to defend (e.g. Winterfell for the Starks), the maps are beautifully designed and you have the character and Maester cards. The character cards show pictures of e.g. John Snow (not drawings), which makes GoT:Risk more Show oriented.The game involves throwing dice, but their are plenty of modifiers that allow you to make strong hosts of armies (which fits thematically with the show). The game is shorter than the board game and features no Wildlings, but you can play as Dany and there is also a map of Essos to play with. Both are good games. The board game is more complex, book oriented and more for the hardcore boardgame player. The Risk version is easier, more show oriented and for casual and hardcore gamers.

Each player takes control of one of six Great Houses of Westeros, then sets out on an epic campaign of combat and politics to secure total dominance.

This board game includes clear, detailed rules to guide you through setup and gameplay. Play begins when each person receives an army of footmen, knights, siege engines and ship units as well as a set of order tokens and other necessary components. Each player also receives a deck of unique house cards, which represent important characters from A Song of Ice and Fire and are used as leaders in battles against rival houses.

Raise Your House to Dominance

Game play proceeds over the course of ten rounds, after which the player who has claimed the most areas containing castles or strongholds is declared the winner. If at any time throughout the game a player controls seven such areas, that player may immediately claim victory.

Each round in the game is made up of three phases: the Westeros Phase, the Planning Phase, and the Action Phase. The Westeros Phase represents special events and the day-to-day activities in Westeros. In the Planning Phase, players secretly assign orders to all of their units. This portion of the game emphasizes diplomacy and deduction. Can players trust their so-called allies, or is a timely betrayal in the making? Finally, during the Action Phase, orders are revealed, alliances crumble, and fierce battles decide the players' fates.

A World of Intrigue, Diplomacy, and Warfare

Fragile alliances will form and break over the course of each game, as players promise support to neighboring Houses only to betray them for their own selfish ends. But beware; as the war unfolds, the barbaric Wildings (which are controlled automatically by the game) work to amass their forces in the far north. Players must occasionally set aside their differences to face a common foe--or face the consequences together.

Question:	What are the dimensions of the product? (no box
Answer:	I think you should be careful because it seems there's no such thing as a "deluxe edidion". I checked the webpage for Fantasy Flight Games and they make no mention of such a thing. Also the box art displayed here says nothing about it being a "deluxe" edition. Personally I'm passing on this one and getting the "regular" one.
Question:	Is this really a bookend? Bookends usally come in pairs. Are there two with this order? Also, can it really hold up books
Answer:	Although I am not familiar with Diplomacy, I am familiar with A Game of Thrones. Much of the game does come down to alliance-building and troop positioning strategy. An element of randomness is introduced through the Westeros cards. These cards are drawn at the beginning of each turn before any orders are assigned. They affect all players equally at the beginning of any given turn. For example, some cards might have players adjust their supply tracks or muster additional troops. These cards affect all players equally, although there impacts on individuals' strategies could vary. Following the cards, a player can adjust his or her game strategy before assigning orders.Randomness is a component, but players are given time to react to it. And once orders are assigned, they are played out through an intricate system which rewards in depth strategy.

Answer:	The "deluxe" second edition is a scam. Check the customer reviews--everyone says it's just a more expensive version of the 2nd edition. I saw a previous answer to a question like yours, and some dude was claiming you need "deluxe" edition to get the Wildling deck and extra pieces, but that's BS. The game comes with all the pieces you need, so just get the 2nd edition. Oh, and it's awesome!
