If it is paint then NO we did not paint or put gloss on them like Melissa and Doug may or may not do. And we do not use that fake rubber wood. This is pure New Zealand Pine. |

I went through my blocks to make sure it could be done ;). Just a heads up all the letters to spell Elliot are either Red or Blue so if you were hoping to get more of a color variation that will not happen with this set. I also bought this set for a maternity shoot and it worked out well for the photos however I was hoping to use these blocks as a toy for my soon to be son and was disappointed at how sharp the corners were on these blocks. The blocks also ended up being smaller than I had expected them to be. Hope this helps :) |

| Answer: | Hi. On the box we wrote this set is for "Ages 4 - 104". We've noticed that children as young as 2 or 3 might enjoy stacking the planks or lining them up in a row, but it isn't until ages 4 or 5 when most children start building with them. The great thing about these wooden planks is that even older children and adults enjoy building with them also. Ages 4-6 often build flat shapes or simple buildings. Ages 7-12 start building some of the more complex structures in our building ideas booklet. We also have some very enthusiastic teenage builders as part of our "Brain Blox Nation" STEM Clubs. :) I hope that helps! |
