Answer:	Varnish? these are completely eco friendly and have been extensively sanded. Truthfully we barely make 10% on this item we just thought it was cool bringing back kindergarten days. So, we made sure that these are top of the line. They might be finished (if that includes NO SPLINTERS EVER), but varnish sounds like a nasty word and I did not look it up. If it is paint then NO we did not paint or put gloss on them like Melissa and Doug may or may not do. And we do not use that fake rubber wood. This is pure New Zealand Pine.

Answer:	The square block is 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches and 1 5/8 inches thick. The rectangle block is 2 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches and 1 5/8 inches thick . All the rest can be figured out from there. They are a nice size block made of heavy wood. Not light and scrawny like other children's blocks I have seen. These will last forever! You will be passing these blocks down to your grandchildren and beyond...

Answer:	I'd say they may have a few more, but there are a really good amount to build with in 6o. The photo looks like there is a large flat one on top in the back, which I don't have, so there may be extras in the photo. If you start to count them you can see there are approx. 60-70 in the photo. They are wonderful, and bigger than I expected. Hefty.

Question:	Does this come with a container to store the blocks in
Answer:	I looked at the fisher price farm animals - too bad they don't mention their size - the barn is probably larger, but they would definitely fit & would be cute.
Question:	Is there a chart that has pictures of things that can be built? Something that the child can try to duplicate
Answer:	I have a lot of great grandchildren and do not remember which one I gave this to. I would think a four year old would like it.
Question:	why is the 100 block set less expensive than the 60 block set
Answer:	I can't answer this question since we don't own a Melissa & Doug train track.
Question:	Could anyone provide dimensions for some of the pieces for reference, say, the largest and smallest pieces
Answer:	we have had this finely made toy for a few years, our grandchildren play with it a lot, they are 2, 4, 5. Everything is secure, no loosening after hours of play. And the use the magnet for other objects, like loading trains, doing magnetic puzzles.

Question:	Is two sets of 75pc the same as one 150 pc set
Answer:	No. Blocks seem to be veneer on some sort of pressed wood or other composite. Not solid wood.
Question:	What type of "solid wood" are these made from? Is it a hardwood? Is it rubberwood
Answer:	Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is generally more dense than plywood. (re: Wikipedia)
Question:	Would these blocks be compatible with Standard Unit blocks
Answer:	yes, I believe so
Question:	Where was this made
Answer:	It is MDF, so there is no grain. The grain you see in the photos is a veneer.
