Our daughter loves this toy. The front "game thing" can be removed and laid flat on ground to play with if you like.

Answer:	No, there is actually no odor at all, which is really nice! It does not have a strong plastic smell either, like some children's toys.

Answer:	The shape sorting blocks are easy to fit into their slots once turned to the correct orientation. You have to push a little bit further on the letter "C" block to allow it to fall all the way into the cube, as it will sit in the space if gently set there. All other blocks (letters, vehicles, & shapes) fall directly into the cube and cannot be balanced inside the grooves. However, it is still very easy to play with "C."

Answer:	It is suitable for kids above 18 months old. Adult supervision is always required if Kids under 18 months are playing.

Answer:	Yes and No. 5 sides of the cube are tactile only and do not require batteries. It needs batteries for the green side to work (electronic sounds and lights). The orange shapes side is a door. Open this, and use the included miniature screwdriver to install 3 AA batteries. Batteries are not included, but the screwdriver is! *Note: After unscrewing the screw, there is a small latch at the top of battery panel that you push down on to open the panel. Then you can insert or change out batteries. Be sure to put the flat side of each battery against the spring end. Replace the panel, flip the on/off switch to on, and you are ready to play. The blue power switch is located on the green electronic side, just above the carnival canopy.
