This is a plastic material commonly used in toys, household applications and medical devices. Since baby may chew on the C-clip as well, that is made of a slightly more rigid plastic called PP (polypropylene - green part) and PE (polyethylene - white part). You can take comfort in knowing that Manhattan Toy has procedural oversight to ensure our products meet or exceed the arduous CPSIA regulations for children's toys, which requires CPSC-approved third-party accredited laboratory testing.
