Question:	Is this mallet good and safe for hammering a butcher knife to cut bones
Answer:	This is exactly what they use in the fish market to help the cleaver go through the fish cleanly, especially with the larger fish. I would only use it on a knife or cleaver that has a wider top edge though because a thinner top edge could eventually cut into the rubber. An alternative would also be a wooden mallet.
Question:	is it good for disassembling shelving
Answer:	I think it would be great for that. It's strong and heavy but doesn't leave a mark. It's really well made; I've used mine a lot.
Question:	Which size would be best to hammer in a real estate sign
Answer:	Depends. If you're talking about a sign with a thin metal spikes, then the 16 oz. mallet should be sufficient to do the job. If your sign has thick wooden spikes, then I'd go with the 32 oz. You also need to consider the ground that you're going to drive the sign into. If it's hard soil, then I'd go with the heavier version.

Answer:	I've never used it for that. I'd use something a bit more solid though.
Question:	Is this mallet offered in left handed model
Answer:	In my opinion the 12oz. If your carving entails to do precise (fine) detailing, the 18oz will begin to hurt your hand. I find that the the heavier the mallet you have a tendency to hold it tight. With the 12oz your hand will be more relaxed & use it for longer and most importantly better control. It is a well balanced tool.
Question:	Can this mallet be used for batoning a froe or is there a better option
Answer:	The plastic part is brown.
Question:	What size mallet (12 or 18oz) is best for woodcarving 1x2 foot designs using "standard" to "intermediate" tools
Answer:	I believe nothing is impossible, but I think it would be easier to extend the legs or add padding to the bottom neither of which is a really good solution

Answer:	I didn’t see 5 sizes in the pull down menu. That said, I love the mallet.

Answer:	1.5 inch face
Question:	I need to reform a sauce pan i dropped which flattened one side. Is this the right tool
Answer:	It suppose could work for that. I’m a cabinet maker and use this tool everyday and love it! The red end is a little to soft for what you need but the yellow end is significantly harder and may work. I do know that both ends will dent and or small pieces break off. So if your pan is to hard and you hit it directly on the edge it will dent the hammer but may still bend the pan back.
Question:	Are the mallet faces detachable
Answer:	I tried and cannot detach them. Plus they do not sell replacement parts. I can tell you the mallet is well made.

Answer:	The cleats are in.
Question:	In the pictures the red ones are the old version without the black pads and the black ones the new ones with the black pads. The black, have the pads
Answer:	You could be ride without cleats, but it is not ideal. I rode without cleats 2 times, about 3 hours each time. In flat rides its ok, but in country tracks and downing stairs you can feel uncomfortable the springs of the cleats pushing in the foot

Answer:	Depending on what the jointing is like, i have used it for gentle tapping. Only thing is you need to make sure when using the mallet it strikes flat on your timber surface for best result.

Question:	What are the stick sizes? Which are the smallest diameter sticks
Answer:	They are pretty firm, so it would be your judgement on this. They are not soft.
Question:	What is the diameter of the felt end? Thinking of using them for tuning lug pitches
Answer:	By Flats do you mean flat soled DH shoes? The pedals are for clipless shoes and work exceptionally well either clipped in or out. Due to the wide surface area if you unclip you can contact the pedal easily with your foot and throw in some pedal strokes before you clip in again. . I run them wearing a pair of Five Ten Impact VXi shoes and they are awesome. The cleat system is designed so you can enter the clip at any angle, versus say Shimano where you have to clip from the back of the pedal moving your foot forward. These you just stomp down on after unclipping and they hook up. You also have the option of what angle of release you want your foot at before your shoe disengages the pedal (15 degree for early release, 20 degree for later release) based on which shoe you install the cleats that accompany the pedals. I use 15 degrees and sounds like you would be the same if you are focusing on DH. Also, the pins are obviously adjustable so screw them well in if you want to be able to move your foot around on the pedal whilst clipped in, or leave more length to keep the foot straighter. Again, I run them with not much thread showing above the surface of the pedal as I prefer to move my foot around in the cleat. But don't take my word for it, they are claimed to be the most raced pedal on the world cup DH circuit and are used by the likes of Greg Minaar, Steve Peat, Rachael Atherton etc.

Answer:	don't know. I got the red ones. they're still great pedals.

Answer:	If the nails are being hammered into earth, then, yes...hammered into dense material such as wood, the mallet will not be choice.
Question:	will this work for pounding a shepherd's hook into the ground
Answer:	Yes, it would. It would be better than a hammer as it would spread out the impact over a wider area. I use it to drive in the pointed stake for my back yard beach umbrella. That part has a plastic rim and the rubber mallet drives it into the ground without breaking the plastic part. I also am careful about how hard I am driving the stake.
