Question:	Can you use this to make jewelry
Answer:	It did heat up quickly, however, I want you to know that I purchased it 28 October 2014 and it quit working in early December. It does have a 7 year warranty, but now I need to find out how to contact Weller.

Answer:	Will the weller sp40n iron work with the weller wlc100?
Question:	What kind of solder is recommended to be used with this station
Answer:	That is the issue with this type of power control, that it won't have consistent temperatures. The resultant temperature will depend on how long you let it pre-heat, how long you let it recover from the last solder joint made, and the tip shape. Let's just say that it does have enough power to melt any solder you'll come across but at only 40W, not necessarily a large pool of it, or if there's a lot of copper to 'sink the heat away, for example on a power or ground plane of a PCB. If specific temperatures are important then you will probably be happier with a temperature regulated iron, where you set the temp wanted and it has a thermal sensor for feedback, or in the case of some wellers (maybe other brands now too) that is built right into the tip to cycle on/off at the temperature of the element you choose to install.
Question:	Should I get this or the Yihua
Answer:	I've put about 3 oz of solder through the original tip (mostly 60/40 flux core) and I also occasionally take 220 grit sandpaper to keep the tip nice and shiny (I've owned this iron for about 2 years). The tip still looks brand new once cleaned up a bit.
