10 best butane soldering iron
A butane soldering iron is a versatile and portable tool used in soldering, brazing, and other tasks that require heating. It is a popular choice among professionals and DIY enthusiasts due to its convenience and ease of use. Here's what you need to know about butane soldering irons:
Fuel Source: Unlike traditional soldering irons that are electrically powered, butane soldering irons use butane gas as their fuel source. This makes them highly portable, as they don't require a power outlet, cord, or batteries.
Versatility: Butane soldering irons are versatile tools that can perform various tasks, including soldering electronic components, heat-shrinking tubing, desoldering, cutting ropes or plastic, and even light brazing or welding.
Adjustable Temperature: Many butane soldering irons feature adjustable temperature controls. This allows users to set the temperature to the specific requirements of their soldering or heating job. Temperature adjustment is often achieved through a dial or knob.
Quick Heat-Up: Butane soldering irons heat up quickly, usually within a few seconds to a minute, making them suitable for on-the-go tasks where time is of the essence.
Portability: These soldering irons are compact and lightweight, making them easy to carry to various job sites or for use in outdoor settings. They are favored by professionals who need to work in the field.
Refillable: Butane soldering irons are refillable, allowing users to replenish the butane fuel when it runs low. Most models have a fuel tank that can be easily refilled with standard butane canisters.
Safety Features: To ensure safe operation, many butane soldering irons come with safety features like an ignition switch, locking mechanism, and a heat-resistant cap. These features help prevent accidental burns or fires.
Soldering Tips: These irons typically come with interchangeable soldering tips of various shapes and sizes to suit different soldering applications. This versatility allows users to select the appropriate tip for their specific needs.
Applications: Butane soldering irons are commonly used in electronics repair, jewelry making, automotive work, plumbing, and other tasks that involve soldering or heating materials. Their versatility makes them a handy tool for a wide range of applications.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to keep a butane soldering iron in good working condition. This includes cleaning the soldering tip, ensuring proper fuel flow, and periodically replacing worn-out or damaged components.
Cost: Butane soldering irons are available at various price points, depending on the brand, features, and quality.Higher-end models may offer more advanced temperature control and additional accessories.
In summary, a butane soldering iron is a portable and versatile tool that uses butane gas as a fuel source to heat up and perform various soldering and heating tasks. Its convenience, quick heat-up time, and portability make it a popular choice for professionals and hobbyists alike.

User questions & answers
Question: | Where are Lexivon Tools manufactured |
Answer: | I have had mine for a week. I purchased it because I wanted Jennifer McGuire’s heat gun. It gets EXTREMELY HOT! I’ve had a Martha Stewart heat gun for 3 1/2 years, and it worked okay, but I really wanted better embossing results. This is warping my paper (after preheating for 10 minutes) and melting plastic. I’m thinking there might be different model numbers for the Wagner. Best of luck, but I hope you’ll find a heat gun that works well for your crafting needs. |
Question: | Lexivon: do you have specific brands of butane that you have tested and recommend? searching for triple-refined butane doesn't show many options |
Answer: | It works on my Japanese power supply of 100v, but works best on 120v. I would use a step down transformer if you have 240v. |
Question: | Can you purchase finer tips to replace the others |
Answer: | new paint |
Question: | Are there replacement soldering tips available? Or are these compatible with some kind of standard soldering tip |
Answer: | You could easily reverse the polarity, but in our Electric Universe, you really don't want to create a new Black Hole. Back in 1913 on Jekyll Island the bankers all got together and rewired a giant Tesla high powered heat gun and that helped create the Federal Reserve Black Hole. They knew about the Electric Universe early on. It happened again in the Housing Bubble of 2008, a new Banker's Black Hole. |

Product description
Weller transforms hand soldering The art of hand soldering has been around for a very, very long time, thousands of years in fact. But it was only until 1941 that a transformer based instant heating soldering method was developed by an impatient American radio repairman who was tired of sitting around waiting for his soldering gun to heat up. Carl E. Weller had to wait until after WWII ended in 1945 to get his Weller Manufacturing Company going. In 1960, the Weller Manufacturing Co. in the US patented the “Magnastat” soldering iron which used a magnetic component to regulate the temperature at the iron’s tip. In an expansion overseas beginning in 1959, the Weller GmbH plant in Besigheim, Germany, along with new plants in other countries, was organized to manufacture temperature controlled irons and soldering guns for primarily industrial markets throughout Europe and the Near East. Keeping pace with the increasing complexity of our customers’ needs, Weller Germany became the market leader for developing and manufacturing hand soldering products worldwide. Our products were proudly emblazoned with “Made in Germany”, signifying innovation and reliability.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does a butane bottle snap in or do you transfer the liquid like the refillable clicker lighters |
Answer: | In the Plymouth indiana and surrounding towns like south Bend and mishawaka, I have found that hardware stores and Phillips gas stations ran by out of town folk whom are very curious and polite carry the best and most affordable cans of butane and even Lowe's carries one brand. All of them work very well in this torch. What is unique about the Drexel is that almost any butane filler fit very well and when the Drexel is full the butane starts to spew out of the filler nozzle letting you know it is full. Many other torches give you no idea whether they are full or not. |
Question: | Which premium refined butane fuel is best to use? what brands are recomended |
Answer: | NO, you have to provide butane-pressurized butane cannot be shipped. Filtered butane is best |
Question: | Can you weld silver jewelry with this product |
Answer: | I have had several butane soldering irons over the years made by Master and Cooper Tools. They were good and served the purpose. The Dremel model is a well made tool and I must say that this kit covers anything I might consider using a hand held butane torch for. I have to give credit to Dremel in that all of their tools measure up to high standards. As a technician and hobbyist, I do not tolerate crap-tools. This is not a crap-tool. I own three different styles of Moto-tools with the oldest one being over 20 years old. Dremel makes good stuff. |
Question: | Hi, is the torch come pre filled or empty and i need to fill it. Thanks |
Answer: | The dremel has a very nice locking mechanism that keeps the flame on, and while it's on the flame adjust knob, allows for a very small or a very adequate flame size. Be wary though when using the torch fla me at is most delicate and smaller size, it has a tendency to blow out very easy. When this happens don't freak or get upset, with your lock still engaged you just restart the automatic ignitor or a small flame Bic lighter and it relights very quickly and efficiently. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I would like to know how much is the cost for the extra accessory items and where do you buy the butane to refill it at |
Answer: | Yes. I purchased a reduction nozzle to concentrate the heat on the object you are heating up. |
Question: | How can I see if butane already filled up |
Answer: | Yes. Get at least the 6.0ah battery |
Question: | Does the flameless heat gun function work well for electrical heat shrink with integrated solder? I can't always run an extension cord to my car |
Answer: | Yes it will. I do recommend using the fuel XC batteries as they last longer. The regular fuel batteries work but don’t last real long |
Question: | Is the flameless heat gun good for vynil |
Answer: | I'm not sure of an accurate answer on that, but I did find some information that was insightful. I will include it here with my answer. Here it is! Hope it's helpful! ***Sees its heaviest use with our high school robotics team (FIRST FRC). Two 5ah batteries gets us thru a day of work and frees us from cords which is especially important at competitions where running a corded heat gun could trip a breaker for 6 or more pits.*** One person found this helpful |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the torch tip? It’s not in the picture, but is listed in the description |
Answer: | I have not had this problem. Does it only happen when it is in use? Does it leak when it is turned off? Does it run out of butane if left sitting off for a while? If it's leaking, return it if you still can, otherwise throw it away. I do smell normal soldering smells when I use mine, but nothing troubling. I don't see how it could have a leak only when on; I'd think the gas would burn, but you could try running a match under the mechanism while it is lit, to see if another flame appears in some wrong place. |
Question: | I can't get this product to light with the sparking lid. What should I do |
Answer: | No i am sorry this will emit fumes. |

Question: | I bought this unit in Feb 2013 and now it won't lite. How do I get it replaced or repaired |
Answer: | Repairs on this type of unit are easy to do yourself. It's also probably the fastest way to fix it. According to the instructions you may be in need of an ejector ($16 form masterappliance.com) if turning down the gas flow doesn't work.Replacement of the ejector takes about 5 mins. I don't know about replacing the torch altogether, I've always just repaired mine in house |
