Answer:	This soldering iron uses a piezo-electric igniter. When you pull back on igniter lever, you should hear a loud click. If click is heard, soldering iron should be lit. Make sure that soldering iron cylinder is full of butane and fuel adjustment knob is open.If this does not solve problem, contact manufacturer of of soldering iron as there are no consumer fixable parts. on soldering iron.

Answer:	Cooling mode turns off the heating element to cool it down gradually to give it a longer life I would assume. Whether that would actually give it longer life is debatable. I have a fully adjustable temp heat gun from cool air to 1800, from 20 years ago and it’s still going along just fine. This unit is getting more daily use completing vinyl wrap jobs. So for us if we get 4 months out of it I’m good. My only real complaint is the completely useless 4’ cord. That’s the only problem with this unit so far. I replaced the cord with a far more suitable one.

Answer:	I am not sure, sorry. I've had it set to 500° and ran it constant for 15-20mins non stop. Worked like a charm. It also has a cool off phase before shutting down. Hope this helps

Question:	Does the Variable Temperature version come with a case? (A hardshell case is a selling/buying point for me
Answer:	If you mean the cooling mode when you slide to off, then the heat element is turned off and the fan only runs for a set time. It doesn't run till it gets to a particular temperature. Temperature when it shuts off depends on how high it was running at. I wait a while to let it fully cool off before putting it away.
Question:	Is it quiet like the old Ideal or Weller heat guns? I need to run it for extended time and can't tolerate too much noise
Answer:	Hello, the temperature of the heat gun is thermostatically controlled to track a value that you set. The output air flow is for heat dissipation for the heat gun in case it gets too hot. The output air flow won't influence the temperature set value.

Question:	How long does it take to heat up to maximum temperature
Answer:	When plug in,you have to turn on the switch,then the heat gun will start to heat to default set temperature.
Question:	Does it throw cool air as well
Answer:	It gets up to temperature very quickly. I have not timed it but I would guess 10 -15 seconds to reach full temp. It is a nice heat gun.
Question:	Will this heat gun stand on it's own so it can be used hands free
Answer:	Yes but if u talking about like vinyl flooring I would recommend a bigger gun like a Skill or Milwaukee brand. This is really for electronic/wiring use.
