We finally decided it was how I was holding my hand...plus my nails are a little bit longer than hers. I also believe it has to do with the angle you hold your finger. I finally decided I would use the code because that worked every time. There was nothing wrong with the box, it was just me and my way of trying to hold any finger/thumb. Hope this helps.
