10 best welding helmet with gloves models
Welding helmets and gloves are essential personal protective equipment (PPE) for welders, providing protection against welding hazards. Here's an overview of welding helmet and glove models in relation to welding helmets, head protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), safety and security, and tools for home improvement:
Welding Helmets: Welding helmets are designed to protect the welder's face, eyes, and neck from sparks, intense light, heat, and debris generated during welding. They come in various models, including:
- Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets: These helmets have auto-darkening lenses that automatically adjust the shade level to protect the welder's eyes from the bright welding arc. They offer convenience and reduce the need to lift the helmet for adjustments.
- Passive Welding Helmets: These helmets have a fixed shade level, requiring the welder to lift the helmet for non-welding activities.
- Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) Helmets: These helmets provide both respiratory and eye/face protection by filtering the air and keeping the welder safe from fumes and airborne particles.
Head Protection: Welding helmets, as a form of head protection, are crucial in safeguarding welders from potential injuries to the head, face, and eyes caused by welding-related hazards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Welding helmets and gloves are an integral part of PPE for welders. PPE includes various safety gear like welding jackets, aprons, safety glasses, and respirators, all of which are vital for the safety of the welder.
Safety and Security: Welding helmets contribute to safety and security by providing protection against welding-related hazards, reducing the risk of eye injuries, burns, and other potential harm to the welder's face and head.
Welding Gloves: Welding gloves are specifically designed to protect the welder's hands from burns, sparks, and sharp edges encountered during welding. They are typically made of heat-resistant materials like leather or Kevlar, providing both dexterity and protection.
MIG/TIG Welding Gloves: These gloves are designed for MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding processes, offering more precise control and dexterity.
Stick Welding Gloves: These gloves are built for stick welding, providing higher heat resistance and protection against spatter and sparks.
Multi-Purpose Welding Gloves: Some gloves are versatile and can be used for various welding processes, offering a balance of protection and flexibility.
Selecting the appropriate welding helmet and gloves is critical to ensure the welder's safety, comfort, and efficiency during welding tasks, making them essential components of any welding setup and toolkit for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.

The 3M Speedglas Auto Darkening Filter 9100XXi offers the same large viewing area as our 3M Speedglas ADF 9100XX. But thanks to improved optics, the 9100XXi ADF allows you to more readily recognize colors as compared to our other models.
From the Manufacturer
The 3M Speedglas Welding Helmet 9100 with Auto Darkening Filter 9100XXi helps provide professional-grade eye and face protection from debris and harmful radiation while offering better visibility. With improved optics, the 3M Speedglas Auto Darkening Filter 9100XXi allows you to more readily recognize colors as compared to our other models. Welders will see a view that is less green. Colors, shades, tone as well as light and dark contrasts will all stand out with more vivid detail. Many welders will find they have better control of the weld puddle with a view that appears lighter, brighter and more realistic. This may help you focus on your welding set-up, welding technique, precision grinding, and inspection of completed welds.
Switch Between Welding and Grinding in just 2 to 3 Seconds -- all with Your Gloves On
This helmet also comes with the 3M Speedglas Silver Front Panel 9100XXi, which offers the convenience of switching between welding mode and shade 3 grinding mode with a simple "gloves-on" touch of an external button on the silver front panel. There is no need to remove the helmet to change these settings. Memory modes allow accessing one of two pre-set welding modes. Both memory modes have an individual setting for dark shade, light to dark switching sensitivity and dark-to-light delay. An instant "Grab and Go" feature automatically turns the welding filter on to your most recent welding setting whenever you pick up the helmet. To save on power, it automatically shuts down after a period of inactivity.
Auto Darkening Filter Reacts Quickly After Striking an Arc The Speedglas lens features user-selectable dark shades of shades 5, 8, 9 through 13, and a light shade of 3. With a viewing area of 2.8 inches high x 4.2 inches wide (72 mm x 107 mm), the 9100XXi provides the largest viewing area available in the 9100 Series helmets, and an expansive field of view that helps the welder to see the work in progress with minimal obstruction. Three arc detection sensors in the lens activate the auto-darkening filter when an arc is struck. The lens then switches from light to dark shade in approximately 0.1 milliseconds (1/10,000 of a second), giving the welder an instant transition from light to dark shade while maintaining an optimal view for torch placement and weld puddle control. When the weld is complete, the filter automatically returns to light shade 3 with a delay of approximately 40-250 milliseconds, allowing almost immediate inspection of the weld pool and preparation for the next weld. Exhaust vents readily direct your exhaled air out of the helmet, helping to reduce heat, humidity and fogging of the welding filter.
The auto darkening filter can help reduce the need to flip the welding helmet up and down between torch placements, which boosts productivity by reducing the stop-and-start time needed with passive lens welding helmets. This feature can also reduce neck stain from “helmet nodding,” while greatly increasing the accuracy of torch placement. The helmet’s battery life is approximately 2,000 hours. The two Cr2030 3V lithium batteries that power the Auto-Darkening filter are easily accessible and replaceable, extending the helmet life.
The ultimate in comfort with a headband that shapes for a customized fit

- • Two adjustable crown straps for increased stability and weight distribution

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this actually the 9100xxi? The second picture shows the 9100v welding filter, the first picture shows the newer shell however |
Answer: | Yes, you only get one diamond pad. |
Question: | Does it come with additional inside and outside protection plates? Sweatband and storage bag |
Answer: | They will last a very long time due to the fact that they ate diamond encrusted |
Question: | Is this hood okay for mig and stick as well as tig |
Answer: | I don't own the Bosch tool to answer your question. |
Question: | Does it have the side windows |
Answer: | Richard, My short answer is "yes". The MM910 sanding pad uses diamond dust for its surface; therefore, the expensive price. It is designed for "grinding" cement, plaster or mortar. Your situation might call for conventional sanding pads (MM70W or MM70P) The MM910 attaches to the Multi-Max tool through a MM14 hook and loop pad (think Velcro). Some companies make after-market accessories that retrofit to other brands so you have another avenue to find cheaper accessories. As an example, some company in China might make a universal accessory that fits Rockwell, Dremel or Porter-Cable because they all use the same layout for attachment. Regards, JLC |

User questions & answers
Question: | do these keep you warm during the winter (outdoors |
Answer: | I don't see why not, they are super heavy duty gloves designed for welding. Not sure how they would hold up to a wood stove... I can assume they would hold up because metal needs to be very hot to melt... |
Question: | are these 17 inches end-to-end? they don't seem that long from the photo |
Answer: | I'm not sure about an exact temperature that they can handle but I can tell you that the gloves are better than any other pair I have bought. When Ive made extremely hot/ long welds and use my hand as a guide I have heated the glove to the point where the index and middle fingers have shrunk down quite a bit lol, and are no longer easy to bend, but when that happen (s) I would have to guess that the temperature is at or above 1000 degrees, and not once have I been burned or experienced enough heat penitration through glove to ever worry about it. |
Question: | would they be good for my husband to use to load wood into the wood stove while burning |
Answer: | This helmet has so some flex to it but it is not so much that I would consider it flimsy. I use it to stick and wire weld and have had no problems. I have never tig welded but, I would think it would be fine. I like the lite weight aspect of this helmet. Hope this helps |
Question: | how high of temp F. can these handle |
Answer: | This welding helmet does not have a grind mode. |

User questions & answers
Question: | are thi glove fireproof? i mind mig Welding fire |
Answer: | Hello! You should wipe them with a damp cloth to clean the gloves and hang them to dry. It’s not recommended to use the laundry machine to wash these welding gloves. Sebastian |
Question: | can you get them in medium |
Answer: | Hello! The gloves definitely protect your hands against the heat and sparkles while using the angle grinder. They don’t have high cut resistance against the disc, our gloves protect your hands against cuts as a regular leather gloves. Thank you for your question! |
Question: | What size are they |
Answer: | Dear customer, thank you for your question! We recommend these welding gloves for mig and stick welding because the thickness of the leather is 1.2mm. However, the leather is so soft that you can use the gloves for tig welding if you don’t need an extremely precision. Sebastian |
Question: | The quantity says "1". Is this "1" pair, or "1" glove |
Answer: | Hello! I think the gloves protect you when you keep a fireball prop on your hand, just don’t keep it for a long time without the holder used for fireball props. The tests we performed showed that our gloves resist to 662°F (350°C) for 27 seconds and to 932°F (500°C) for 14 seconds continuously. We made the gloves especially without aluminum foil inside because the aluminum foil provides a slightly higher protection against flames but it conducts the heat through your hand right away.
