Answer: | Will no work on my miller helmet. |
Question: | What's the warranty on this helmet |
Answer: | They will light up your welding zone very well but they do eat batteries. |
Question: | what size are the clear lenses? also, are they on amazon |
Answer: | I don't have a battery tester at home but as soon as I received it, I tried using one of these to replace my existing battery for our smoke alarm and it didn't work. So I had to fully charge it first before using it and it finally worked. Therefore to answer your question, for sure it is not at its full capacity and also not sure if it has some power left but I'd rather charge it first before using it. Hope this helps. good luck! |
Question: | How much shading does the helmet do when it's not activated? Grinding mode is level 4. Is that as light as it gets |
Answer: | Yes made in China. Didnt hold a charge as long as American made batteries. We would not buy again. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this hood clip to a hardhat |
Answer: | The same thing happened to me, but I found out I just wasn't looking close enough. The test button only makes the screen go dark for a second. Make sure when you push the button the helmet is close to your face and your looking at something light. Also, make sure you pulled the plastic tab that stops the battery from making contact during shipping. And get the protective plastic off both sides of the screen too. |
Question: | Do they have a magnifier for the wide lens welding helmet |
Answer: | It depends what type of respirator You wear. I used a miller low profile fit great I wouldn’t recommend it for the M3 respirators with the filters on the side. |
Question: | I wear a 8.5 hat will the headgear go that big |
Answer: | No these are a Shade #10 ADF, There are other shade ADF filters available separately 9, 10, 11 , and 12 |
Question: | Is this hood good for lift arc tig? And is it battery along with solar or just solar powered |
Answer: | From what I can see looking at mine, there’s only 2 sensors. Top left and right. I don’t see anymore on the bottom. I’ve welded some super awkward angles and never had problems! |

Question: | Does this helmet have and adapter for a magnifying lense |
Answer: | Under the description there's a fit guide, here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Bike-Buying-Guide/b?ie=UTF8&node=5801315011 |
Question: | Will this helmet, when completely off, and you strike an arc and it will automatically turn on and darken? Seen a brochure claiming it has auto on |
Answer: | Size 48cm is for 4'8"-5'2". The estimate stand over height for a 48 frame is 28.25" |
Question: | can you use a cheater lens with this helmet |
Answer: | Nope - its a fixie for street / road and not distance either. You can't use it on gravel or grass - think running paths that many cities build around public parks or beaches etc. We have lots of renovated old railway paths where I live and its not good for fixies. Basically you buy a fixies for a few reasons 1. super simple to repair or maintain because hardly anything can go wrong. One gear right? 2. Usually light, so easy to pick-up and take into a building or condo. 3. Its more for commuting to work where the distance isn't too far. Fixies are somewhat uncomfortable because the geometry is upright, unlike a road bike where you are positioned more over your drop bars for longer distance riding comfort. Hope this helps - Bill / Cruiser Republic. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does this helmet have a solar panel to help keep the battery charged |
Answer: | Yup, I've had mine two years, daily user and still the same batteries. |
Question: | Does this hood have an external switch to change between welding and grinding mode |
Answer: | The hood doesn’t have an external switch to change between welding and grinding, it has an internal press button type switch. You have to raise the hood a bit to select weld or grind because the switch is located at the bottom left on the inside front part of the hood. |
Question: | Does this helment has grinding mode |
Answer: | Yes it does. There a "Mode" button that switches between grinding and welding settings. |
Question: | How fast does it darken |
Answer: | Instantly, I have never been flash blasted once wearing this Jackson hood. There were even times where it annoyed me at where I was working because the lighting wasn't the best and if I angled the lens up even on the lowest settings towards the lights it would darken. It only happened in that very specific situation and outside of that one area it never happened. This is by far my personal favorite auto darkener. 10/10 for me. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will these fit the welding hood "The Boss |
Answer: | I just started working as a lube tech at a truck stop, so I'm in the pit under trucks every day. I wear this bump cap insert inside my uniform baseball cap, and as I am a monumental klutz, I have repeatedly proven how glad I am to have this little unit between truck undercarriages and my noggin. I have bonked my head numerous times on various hard objects and felt no pain. I don't think it would protect against someone coming after you with a baseball bat, and I would not recommend it for skateboarding or cycling, but for what I'm doing with it, it is doing an excellent job. The name kind of says it all -- it's a bump cap -- not a crash helmet. Meant for derps...not daredevils. :) |
Question: | does it hold a 4 1/2 by 5 1/4 auto darkening lense |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. With the neck shade design, the pad and neck shade are attached. |
Question: | Is there another way to hold our auto darkening lens then this device, I really like the older |
Answer: | You can purchase an additional light for the back. |
Question: | is this compatible with the jackson insight w |
Answer: | Thanks for your question! This helmet weighs 1.13 lb / 0.51kg. |

Answer: | No |
Question: | does the helmet have auto shutoff |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. Yes, there are holes on top. These were added to help with air flow and breathability. |
Question: | Answers do not explain what type of battery it takes. what battery does this take |
Answer: | I’ve never had a crow bar hit my head with one of these things on so I wouldn’t know about that. However, due to my work in confined spaces, I’ve hit my head on fat industrial studs that were protruding from the wall or ceiling pretty good and this bump cap protected my head from any lacerations/damages. |
Question: | how to remove screen |
Answer: | No, this product is not OSHA approved. |
