Answer:	It is divided into two states: open and closed. It has two different colors divided into purple light and red light. Violet light can detect whether there is cat moss by illuminating the cat. Govee WiFi Water Leak Detector

Using the connection between the gateway, water sensors, and Govee Home App, you can monitor any leakages on your phone while you are away from home. There are no annoying wires, which makes monitoring even easier. You can also name each WiFi water sensor according to their location on the App. When a leak occurs, the sensors will not only sound a loud alarm, but email and App notifications will also be sent to your phone. Open the App, Connect to H5040.

After downloading 'Govee Home' from the App Store or Google Play to your phone, please open the App and sign up with your email account. Then click the icon '+' at the top right corner and select H5040 device.

Press the Pairing Button for 3 seconds

Press the pairing button for 3 seconds until the red and blue light flash alternately and then input the WiFi password on your phone. Please note any special characters, blank spaces, and so on.

Connect Your WiFi Gateway

Follow the app prompt to connect your WiFi "Govee_Gateway_xxxx" with your router (doesn't support 5G WiFi). Place the water sensors in the detecting location and name each water alert .eg. basement, kitchen. Then you can begin to monitor the water leakage on your phone!

After a successful connection, you can place the sensors and start to monitor water leakage on your App. Note: Please ensure the App and your phone settings are set to allow "push" notifications. The gateway will not send push notifications if the leak happens again in 90 seconds.

However other people at Kidde say that practically all Kidde's will replace the FADC, but you may have to swap the wiring harness, pretty simple if you can run a breaker box and a wire nut. I would call the help desk at 1-800-888-6788 to verify your present situation. Make sure you have the model NFO, of course, and the manufacturing date stamped on the back.

Answer:	I would think that a 9 Volt lithium would be safer than an alkaline. These water detectors are supposed to signal low battery life. But you have to hear it and in fact it has to signal. The extra money for the lithium is worth it. There is no reason not to use lithium.

Answer:	I have owned my only 1 week. It’s a 9 volt battery and my guess depends on the quality of battery and how often it is triggered or alarm sounding. I would guess that you should test it regularly and replace it when the low battery alarm sounds or 1 year, whichever is shortest.

Answer:	There are 2 small metal nodes that you can see on the outside in the picture. When moisture connects the 2 nodes the alarm sounds. I test these devices with a moistened finger, not much water at all. Very high humidity can trigger them as well, that is, humidity above atmospheric norm.

Answer:	There are 3 ways to connect the extension cable to YoLink Leak Sensor. 1. Soldering with a soldering iron: (1) Use a soldering iron to solder 2 common wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the Leak Sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly ) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If you use a soldering iron to solder the wire, it may damage the two probes of the original device, which may cause the probes to rust in a humid environment. 2. Use glue or tape to fix (1) Use glue or tape to stick 2 ordinary wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the leak sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) a. Stick the wire to the end of the probe and roll it into a circle or ring to expand the contact area & assist in fixing; b. It is recommended to use glue/tape with high viscosity, which must be firmly adhered to! (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. Question:	Is there any monthly or yearly fee to connect to a service
Answer:	It is hard to silence the alarm unless you make a minor modification in advance. Don't wait until the 130 dB siren is going before you work out how to disable the alarm. I've had it blaring in my ears while I frantically try to open the case to disconnect the battery, only to find that opening it is very difficult, even with the aid of a tool such as a flat-head screwdriver. What I've done since is filed down the locking tabs slightly, just enough that the plastic case still locks but is much easier to open when the alarm sounds, so that the battery can be disconnected. Then you can address the water leak in relative peace.
Question:	I don't see any rope sensors which is bad for covering areas like washers, fridge, and water heaters. Any rope solutions I'm unaware of with this
Answer:	The wire has no gauge markings- printed or imprinted. Comparing the wire side by side with a wire stripper, appears to be 18 gauge and it is definitely stranded copper. It is most assuredly no larger than 18 gauge so I would lean towards 18 to 20. I don’t know your application as to why you would need to extend the original length but I can tell you that the device is really loud when activated - if that helps you any.

Scan the QR code on YoLink Hub and Water Leak Sensors to add into YoLink App.

You can customize their name, set their room, and add to/remove from “Favorite”.

Power up the Hub using the supplied power adapter, connect to your Wi-Fi network (or directly to your router, using the included patch cord), and your YoLink Hub will connect to the App.

Step 4, Connect to Cloud

Press "Set" button on Water Leak Sensor once to connect it to YoLink Hub and Cloud.

Question:	which works best for condensation on the furnace -air handler
Answer:	Although this is a question best answered by First alert, I believe that once it is synced with other modules it only sends a notification to other modules when you either push the test button or an actual alarm triggers a signal to be sent. Anything else would likely cause excess battery drain for no reason.
Question:	Is it water proof? Meaning if it is submerged in several inches of water can it be reused
Answer:	I mixed sa511 smoke with voice and sco500 smoke and co with voice and all work fine together
Question:	Is the battery replaceable ? If yes, what size battery does it require
Answer:	Here is the wording from the instructions: The communication distance (range) between any two ONELINK® Alarms is typically 50 feet (15 meters) inside of a home. Some features of a home, such as the number of floors, number/size of rooms, furniture and types of building materials used may reduce the range of the Alarms. Examples include: suspended ceilings, ductwork, large metallic appliances (refrigerators) and metal studs. A feature of ONELINK® Alarms is that they operate as a mesh network. All Alarms will repeat any alarm signal that is received to all other ONELINK® Alarms. Interference from structural conditions can be overcome by adding additional Alarms to route the wireless signal around obstructions. • The range and proper operation of any wireless device will vary depending on its surroundings. It is very important that each Alarm is tested individually before and after installation to make sure that all Alarms respond properly.

Answer:	They should, I have 4 units and was able to get them all connected. It took me a few times at the beginning because I was not fast enough.

Question:	How to turn off the alarm? Is there a switch to turn off the sound
Answer:	22 USD because it ships from the US so it costs extra to ship it to .de
Question:	What gauge of wire is the cable. I will need to extend it about 20 ft. and would like to use the same gauge wire not bigger or smaller
Answer:	It will go off if you set it on a damp cloth, or your dampened finger. It does get louder the more water it detects.
Question:	Is it a constant, steady alarm, or does it "chirp/beep" repeatedly
Answer:	The batteries are not replaceable. An expiration date is printed on the device. Last years purchase says replace 3-2020.

Answer:	The product is NOT a one-time use product. If it sounds, just life the Flood Buzz out of the puddle, dry off the bottom and place to monitor for leaks again. This product is very simple to use.

Question:	Can you make sensor wire longer, and details
Answer:	Hello, we do not have instructions or knowledge of how to lengthen the wire. The warranty will be voided if product is altered or tampered with. Thanks
Question:	how long will the batteries last (assuming it is rarely alarming
Answer:	Been around 6 months and it has gone off around 20 times and batteries are still a full charge. This is the loudest alarm I have for the price.
Question:	Is this magnetic or does it use adhesive to attach to appliances? The video says it's magnetic but the descripton says it uses adhesive
Answer:	The unit I have attaches via adhesive. Bottom Line: neither magnetic or adhesive makes any difference. You want the sensor to be as low on the ground as you can get it so it reads water at the first appearance. I used extreme tape over my sensor to force the unit to stay flat on the ground at the lowest point (my garage has a little dip in the cement floor). If you have magnetic and it causes the sensor to sit 1/8" off the ground, you will have a lot of water loss before the alarm goes off. An adhesive patch could also lift the sensor off the ground by 1/16" also.
Question:	Can the alarm be switched off once it goes off while you fix the problem
Answer:	Yes, the alarm has an off and on switch. You can remove it from the water, turn it off, and it will reset itself.
