This spot measures roughly 8 inches in diameter at 3 feet, and maybe 2 feet in diameter at 10 feet. For what it's worth, I carry one of these everywhere, and has been very helpful to my aging eyes. With intermittent use, the single AAA can go a week or two (maybe more). Love these! Don't know if I helped at all, but I gave it my best shot.

Answer:	It depends on which kind of battery you use. If you use 3xAAA batteries, first insert them into the black battery holder and then install them into the battery compartment. Answer:	The zoom feature does not have to be used which is like not having a zoom feature.

Answer:	On average, I get about 5-6 hours on low before the it gets noticeably & rapidly dimmer. I won't test a bright light's run times on high. Running these types of lights continuously on high for a long time tends to wear out the phosphors inside, making the gradually become a little dimmer each time. Not only that, but running them at high for a long time makes the LED & electronics run hotter. That shortens the lifetime of the LED, & electronics a lot, & you may risk burning your lights out if they get too warm. In a power failure or off-grid situation, running them on low to make the battery last longer, is still plenty bright enough for most night situations.

Now for the question about the battery: I use the AA battery and it provides all you can ask for. From what I've read about the 14500, yes they should provide an edge in brightness but with prolonged use, they are said to become extremely overheated, to the possibility of damaging the flashlight. Stick with the AA's and you won't be sorry.

Question:	If you use the supplied rechargeable battery, how do you know when it is fully charged
Answer:	It has a strap on the soft holster to thread your belt through so you can carry it with you
Question:	How do you replace the batteries
Answer:	If you use 3 AAA cells, you don't need the plastic piece. If you use a 18650 rechargable cell, the plastic cover makes for a tighter fit. Plut the plastic cover all the way in, then put in the 18650 button-top cell.
Question:	Flashlight always starts up in the mode that follows the mode it was in when I shut it off. Can I somehow get it to come on in the brightest mode
Answer:	This flashlight DOES have strobe as one setting. You have to click the on/off button twice fast to change to one of 5 modes, hi power, med, low, strobe, SOS. It will stay at Hi power steady until you cycle to the next mode.
Question:	I bought a two pack one of them on and off switch broke almost immediately will you on warranty this
Answer:	You can absolutely use 18650 batteries (must be 1500-1800mAh only) instead of 3 x AAA batteries.
