Question:	I just received the flashlight and i am charging it per the instruction sheet. is it normal for the flashlight to become very hot while charging
Answer:	12 volts will NOT charge the Mfj269c. The batteries at full charge are at about 13.6 to 13.8 volts. The charge voltage needs to be at least 1 volt more than the current charge voltage of the batteries. And remember, the charge current of the built in charger is trickling at about 10 ma. It takes forever to charge 10 batteries at that current output and charge voltage. Therefore this transformer does not meet the charge requirement of the mfj269c.

Answer:	The LED in this flashlight is advertised as a CREE XHP70. That means this light CANNOT achieve 5,000 lumens. According to the spec sheet for the XHP70, found on the CREE website, the maximum lumens for the XHP70 is 4,022 lumens. Moreover, all LEDs of the same model are "binned", according to actual characteristics. In order to keep the price of the flashlight down, most manufacturers buy from the lower bins, meaning that the LED will not achieve that max. But even if it has an XHP70 from a lower bin, it's still going to be almost twice as bright as an XHP50 (2546 lumens max) and more than 4 times as bright as a T6 (≈1,000 lumens max). The XHP70 is the brightest LED on the market (today), capable of being used in flashlights. It should be super bright… just not 5,000 lumens. Also, the lumens will drop, when using AAA batteries, since they cannot supply the high current necessary to run this LED at full brightness. When you buy replacement batteries, be sure to get the ones made for "high-current drain". An 18650 or 26650 battery that works just fine in your 1,000 lumen flashlight might trip the internal protection circuitry of the battery, if used in a high drain flashlight, like this one.

I was blown away by how bright it is (don't stare into it) and bought a second one for my sister plus one more right now for me. Made with quality materials it actually is metal not plastic and the battery compartment is fully enclosed plastic box with a notch/tab lock door, other brands just have plastic case for batteries with a thin rubber cover between the back of your head and the batts. Green/Red lighted on/off battery charge indicator switch on top of the lamp, even that is rubber with screwed down metal bezel, the magnifying lens is glass not plastic, plus the usual red rear led on back of battery compartment. I still feel lucky I found this, others don't even come close.

Answer:	Ann, I've never had to replace a bulb in one of these lights, but I dug out the spare bulb that comes in the butt of the flashlight (it's hidden in the grey foam, underneath the spring). The markings on the spare bulb are: "MAG +2 Cell HK 1A6". When I Googled that I got several hits, but I suspect that just about any bulb designed for a 2-D flashlight will work. You need to decide what TYPE you like the best -- My favorite is the Krypton bulb -- Rayovac makes a K2 and a KPR102, and EveReady makes a KPR102. That's what I'd use.
Question:	I have a B90 (5") battery from a Surefire light. Will it charge in the piggyback charger
Answer:	The way to get rid of the black spot is to take thehead of the flashlight completely off and adjust the small light housing. I way this can take hours of doing this till you get rid of the black spot. When you do get it done, you'll be impressed with the solid circle. But it can hours or even a few days to get it right. Question:	Can you leave this light in the charger all the time, or will it fry the battery
Answer:	The 6 D-cell daylight is a less than dainty 19 1/2 , ( yes, nineteen and one half) inches long. The 2 1/2 head and 1 1/4 diameter is about right and pretty standard for d cells. It is also quite heavy and makes for a sturdy club. Completely sealed against the weather. Should last a lifetime. Those other answers may be for the 3 cell.
Question:	Does it have a tail cap button to operate the flash light as well
Answer:	Maglite advertises as 168 lumens. Research lumens/luminosity for yourself to understand how the "here today - gone tomorrow" tactical flashlight manufacturers are inflating their advertised lumen rating. With the Maglite 3D LED you get a very durable and rugged flashlight. It is also extremely bright with a long beam throw. I live on the Black Warrior river and can light the opposite shore line using the Maglite, whereas my so-called tactical 1000 lumen light will not. The bottom line: when the power goes out, or when I go for an evening walk down the river bank; it is the Maglite that goes with me. I highly recommend.

It does look like you can remove the glass but it wont be a real easy task as it looks to require a special tool that looks a lot like a watch repair tool. I assume the water came in through the battery compartment ? I'd just try to dry it out in the sun or some other indirect heat source.
