This spot measures roughly 8 inches in diameter at 3 feet, and maybe 2 feet in diameter at 10 feet. For what it's worth, I carry one of these everywhere, and has been very helpful to my aging eyes. With intermittent use, the single AAA can go a week or two (maybe more). Love these! Don't know if I helped at all, but I gave it my best shot.

Answer:	Not sure what smelled awful as I haven't read the persons statement, but I don't see why this couldn't be used for potable water if it is "brand new". I purchased mine in January of this year but didn't install it until July. It is installed in my sump pit to monitor for high water and as you might already know it can also be used (by switching two wires inside) to monitor for low water as well. I test mine once a month and have not noticed any fowl odors. There is nothing in or on it to create any fowl orders anyway unless it was exposed to high heat or flame. Just in case you are wondering, as of right now, if I needed to order another one I would. Hopefully this information will help you in making your decision, good luck.

Answer:	I've had 4 and sent one back because it was only charged to 4.0 volts when three light turned green. The others were at around 4.13 to 4.18. I found that if you left them charging, they would top out at around 4.22 or so. That's after like an extra hour or two.

Answer:	Unscrew the rear cap that has the button and they should be there. You will find two long Li Ion batteries. Mine came with purple color batteries.

Answer:	These are not normal 18650 batteries and will not fit products that use industry standard 18650 batteries. The batteries are 18mmx70mm. 18650 batteries are 18mmx65mm.

Answer:	The handle diameter is just under 1". The bigger lens end is just over 1 3/8".
Question:	What are the dimensions of the body in inches please? I need this to fit in a mount, so I need the exact dimentions
Answer:	7-7/8" long with lens head retracted, and just under 8-3/8" with lens head extended. Diameter of the handle tube is in between 15/16" and 1 inch. If this flashlight needs to be inserted into a 1" tube it will fit but it will be tight. Diameter of the flashlight head is 1-7/8" and the length of the flashlight head is 2-1/4". Hope this helps.

Answer:	I do not believe you have that choice, at least I do not see any buttons or settings that allow you to do that. The 3 buttons in the front are for : 1. Skip the pre-heat cycle (left button) 2. ON/Off Power (Center button) 3. Reset or clear reading (Right button). Be safe!
