Answer:	The installation instructions for this unit notes that it can be wall mounted, "If allowed by local building codes," (check with your Buildings Department - since several codes are in use in various localities) - with the proviso that the top of the mounted unit must be between "4 inches and 8 inches" below the wall-ceiling meeting, to avoid dead air space.

Answer:	Nor sure about that particular standard, but box states that it complies with ANSI/UL Standards, California state fire marshal, FHA, HUD, and National Fire Protection Association.
Question:	I have Model No. SC7010BV. Is the same replacement without the "V
Answer:	The beep is effective. It always seems to start in the middle of the night. I twist the unit off the ceiling and do a battery swap and have it back on the ceiling in less than a minute, craw back into bed before really waking up. It's not a pain to replace the batteries, it's very easy. Simply slide the tray out and pop new ones in. The batteries fit snuggly in the compartment and there are tabs that allow you to push the batteries out by applying pressure with your thumbs from the back side. There is an optional screw hole to make the battery compartment tamper resistant. This prevents people from easily taking the batteries to power their remote controls or whatever. When fire marshals inspect fire related deaths it's not uncommon to find the smoke and fire detectors had no batteries installed. This simple, optional, screw might seem like "a pain" to some people, but it's an easy way to save your life. This is a great unit. I have 6 in my house and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Answer:	Dear cutomer, excuse that this prodcut Y301 can't detect hydrogen gas, it's mainly sensitive for methane and propane. thank you very much

Answer:	Don't worry, it's normal, the large moisture change can affect the sensor performance, and may lead to false alarm, but the data on display only switch to 1,2 or 3, but won;t trigger the voice and light alarm. Answer:	The alarm never went off in ours and the battery was charged when we got it. Its a 10 yr battery so I think your product is defective.

Answer:	Your warranty starts at the date of purchase. Keep your receipt. Your 5 year shelf life starts the day you power it up. The expiration date is hard coded into the software and only starts the day you plug it in..... This is from BRK WEBSITE
Question:	If the alarm goes off, how can you tell whether it's due to CO or fire if there is no voice alert
Answer:	If there is a fire present, the fire alarm is probobly going off.If there is no fire it is probobly CO.It also beeps differently. Mine is 2 long for fire and 3 fast for CO. It sounds like this one is 3 & 4. I'm sure it says on the box somewhere.

Purchase one of those if you'd like. Both types do react differently to smoke and fire... There are many types of radiation and radioactive material you come into every day. Question:	does it need to be recalibrated? How do you do it
Answer:	Any incandescent/filament lamp/bulb can work with AC or DC. It won't have any good reason to 'care' which it is.
Question:	I can’t unscrew the back. What tool will supposedly open it
Answer:	I got this to replace the bulb in my old "Tensor" model 9100 desk lamp with a 2 stage switch. It says "Use #93 bulbs only" on the lamp bottom, so I took a shot. Not only does this fit, it puts out a much cleaner light, with less heat than the bulb that was in it, so I'm delighted. It also seems to be handling the 2 stage switch fine, and is slightly brighter on one level, than the other, though it is subtle. Do I need 10 of them, not likely, but I'm happy with it so far (about 10 minutes use, thus far.)

Answer:	In this hardwired design, they are interconnected to each other on your 120 volt house wiring system -- typically 14/3 Romex with ground -- black for power, white for neutral and red for the orange interconnection wire. The uninsulated bare ground wire is not used. This First Alert version does not use wi-fi or radio frequencies to talk to each other. Only the unit initiating the alarm speaks the programmed room name. The other interconnected units do not announce the room name; they only sound the alarm. It seems a little misleading to me from the First Alert description. Answer:	I think it should be a good use for that, I use it at home with non vented gas fireplace. Running the fireplace for extensive times raises CO level and I could see it with this tool. The reading was still showing under 50 which is considered somewhat safe but can still affect people with weak immune system. I bought this perticular tool because I trust the brand.

This alarm features a 10 year battery backup. The battery drawer is shipped pre locked so battery will not be discarded prematurely. Under normal conditions you should not have to replace the battery for the life of the alarm. "Intelligent sensing technology" system is designed to reduce nuisance alarms.
