Question:	What is date of manufacture
Answer:	If your home has a good central location, where air will circulate from most areas of the house, I would say that one carbon monoxide monitor should be sufficient. In the case of a multi-story dwelling, I would invest in one carbon monoxide monitor per floor. Our home is a good example of a single floor dwelling of approximately 1400 sq. feet, with excellent air circulation. We have one monitor in a well ventilated hallway that is common to all the rooms of the house. I hope this response is helpful in your decision making.
Question:	Does this come with the screws for installation or do I need to purchase separately
Answer:	The instruction booklet that came with my First Alert carbon monoxide alarm (I do not know if I bought a "model C0615" -- my alarm has NO identifying alpha-numeric) informs me that there IS an extension cord already on the back of the alarm; it also tells how to access it. I unplugged my alarm from the outlet, turned it back-side-up and true enough the 2 pronged plug you use to plug it into the electrical outlet is part attached to a lightweight extension cord that I would estimate to be about 4 or 5 feet long. The instruction booklet says that is for use by those who want to remain standing and look at the alarm "face-to-face." Hope this helps, Fat.
Question:	why does 9 volt battery not fit in compartment- door won't close
Answer:	This unit probably detects CO at less than 30 ppm, but is not allowed to display that level unless a button is pushed. In this case, the peak level the alarm detected since last reset is what will show, not the current ambient level. From 30 to 70 ppm, the display can show the ambient level, but the alarm will not sound until it's been in that range for 30 days, as mentioned. At 70 ppm, the alarm is not to sound for at least an hour, and no more than 4 hours. That's UL requirements, which most codes across the US adhere to.

Question:	What size home would this cover? Do I need more than one in a 1400 sq. ft. space
Answer:	Straight into the wall... two prongs on the back. The rear picture shown on Amazon shows the prongs, but it's a little confusing because the battery door is shown open - when the door is shut, it's out of the way so the unit can mount directly on an an electoral socket.
Question:	Does this alarm work when using an extension cord or must it be plugged directly into a wall outlet
Answer:	The manual for the CO605 plug-in with battery backup says that if the battery is low or missing, it chirps once a minute. I don't have the item myself, so if somebody can confirm that it does chirp if it is plugged in without a battery, I would appreciate it. As to another answer here, if you are hearing 3 chirps per minute, it means the alarm is not functioning properly; it is not because of a low or missing battery, which is supposed to give off only one chirp per minute.
Question:	can it detect levels of 20,30 or 40 ppm of CO? I know alot can only detect 70 ppm of CO or above...but I'm concerned of a small CO leak of below
Answer:	If it is a 9 volt battery, it may not be seated correctly. See the video on the first alert website, and be prepared to do some hard pushing to get the 9V battery to engage. I had 3 9V units, and 2 of the 3 seemingly required excessive pressure to get the batteries to engage. When I first thought I had the batteries installed by just closing the door, the unit chirped until I got the batteries shoved on hard.
Question:	If I plug this directly into the wall does it over both outlets? I have a nightlight in my hall where I want to place this unit
Answer:	CO is slightly lighter than air, but about the same weight as Nitrogen molecules that is 78% of air. It mixes evenly over time. Researchers tested this by injecting CO into a column of air at different heights. All trials mixed evenly but the injection at the top took a little longer to reach equilibrium. Answer:	The installation instructions for this unit notes that it can be wall mounted, "If allowed by local building codes," (check with your Buildings Department - since several codes are in use in various localities) - with the proviso that the top of the mounted unit must be between "4 inches and 8 inches" below the wall-ceiling meeting, to avoid dead air space.

Answer:	The beep is effective. It always seems to start in the middle of the night. I twist the unit off the ceiling and do a battery swap and have it back on the ceiling in less than a minute, craw back into bed before really waking up. It's not a pain to replace the batteries, it's very easy. Simply slide the tray out and pop new ones in. The batteries fit snuggly in the compartment and there are tabs that allow you to push the batteries out by applying pressure with your thumbs from the back side. There is an optional screw hole to make the battery compartment tamper resistant. This prevents people from easily taking the batteries to power their remote controls or whatever. When fire marshals inspect fire related deaths it's not uncommon to find the smoke and fire detectors had no batteries installed. This simple, optional, screw might seem like "a pain" to some people, but it's an easy way to save your life. This is a great unit. I have 6 in my house and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Answer:	Loss in a co-ax is a function of frequency. Assuming we are talking about the 12” patches. At 1ft of RG58 run 14MHz(20m band) it has a 0.013dB loss, at 440MHz (70cm band) it has 0.08dB loss... which yeah if you add everything up it could be rather substantial. As a patch cable though. If you want to try patching with a LMR400UF, that’s all on you, but you can’t beat the flexibility of RG58 If you’re going to attempt to run say 100ft of RG58 on 70cm yeah... 90% of your power goes to de-icing the feed line. Answer:	The instructions that come with the unit duplicate what I have read from several Fire Department sources: you can place your unit on the ceiling, but AT LEAST 4 inches (10cm) from the wall. If you want to mount it on the wall, mount it MORE THAN 4 inches (10cm) BELOW the ceiling, but NO LOWER than12 inches (30cm) below the ceiling. It has to be high enough up the wall to "smell" the smoke, but that 4 x 4 inch (10cm x 10cm) area where the wall meets the ceiling can sometimes harbor a "dead zone" of still air where the smoke would NOT reach the detector quickly enough during a fire to warn you in time. Thus, do NOT mount your detectors too close to where the wall meets the ceiling.

Answer:	Hello. Yes, but not the way you mean. When the alarms go off, there is always one alarm going off and setting off all of the others. This alarm will have a green light flashing every second as well as the red light. You have to identify that alarm and either put it in HUSH mode or unplug it and take it down to stop the others. This is intentional so that if you are not leaving the house then you are identifying and investigating where the smoke situation is and if there is danger. The HUSH mode will make the alarm require more smoke to go off and for a small amount of smoke will stop it for about 8 minutes If there is too much smoke, the HUSH mode will not stop the alarm for going off.
Question:	If the alarm goes off, how can you tell whether it's due to CO or fire if there is no voice alert

Answer:	Hello. When plugged in AC power, it is supposed to have a solid green LED light. When running on battery alone, it should have a green light that flickers every 60 seconds. If this is not what is happening, call us when you are on location with a ladder at 1-800-880-6788 so we can figure out what is going on and how we can resolve this.

Answer:	I open back back forgot I had installed alarm, I have a keypad by back door. When alarm sounded true keypad, nothing. I ran to unplug. Duh, battery operated then run to phone. Phone stopped everything. I didn't even get a call. That happened December 30 2018.

Answer:	At first my batteries were reporting 85% after 6 months, and again about 85% after the second 6 months. Then I helped my neighbor in the condo next to me setup a zwave system. Suddenly my batteries are only lasting 4-6 weeks. In other words, your signal strength will have a lot to do with how long the batteries last.

Answer:	I don't think this can be wired to an existing system? It doesn't have the receptacles on the back like the wired units do. So, as far as I can tell, you'd have to replace them all. As an aside, I left my wired system in place (4 detectors) and just installed 2 of these. I figured if we're home the wired system will alert us inside the house. If we aren't home the zwave alarms will trigger eventually, but potentially not as quick (depending on source of smoke) without the same number of detectors.
