Answer:	That is a great idea. I've got a leaky 26' skiff that may be a candidate for an aux. pump, if it will fit through the hatch opening into my bilge. The wide base may be a problem but it's perfect for a pool cover.

Answer:	No a special hose one inch and 1/4 , the seller have this hose . My email is [email protected] send me one , and i will take a photo of the hose you need. If you use only one garden hose the pump is forse to work harder. I died something long time ago used a pvc pipe 1 1/4 and a T with two connection for 2 water hose and work very good for me , also i can take a photo of what I did. Question:	Does this pump have a safety switch
Answer:	Yes, Andrew Bauer covered it well. However, you must regularly maintain the pump according to the manufacturer's instructions, or the safety switch won't work when needed. I didn't know about the maintenance requirement (thanks, installers), so my 18 year old old pump didn't stop the A/C and I ended up with water all over the place. The one time in 18 years I needed the safety switch and it didn't work! Just make sure you put pump maintenance on your calendar.
Question:	All these pumps use 3/8" tubing. I have a 40' run (3.5' max lift). I think PVC would be easier to keep the drain line straight (no sags). Thoughts
Answer:	A 40' run is a long way, but since your rise is only 3 1/2', that should not be a problem. I'm not a pro, but I expect the pump to work fine as long as you adhere to the 3/8" diameter.
Question:	I want to connect this to our dehumidifier and drain out to the utility sink about 15 feet away. Can it go horizontal first then up? (about 3 feet
Answer:	Absolutely, yes. The total "head" of your installation is only 3 feet, which is much less than the rated 15-20 feet. Should have no problem.

Answer:	It pulls too much current for most battery backups, a generator will run it fine.
Question:	how long is the power cord
Answer:	Just received my Wayne CDU980E. I, too, was concerned with this question. Power cord measures about 90-inches (7.5-feet) from where it connects to the top of the sump motor (which is about 11-inches above the bottom of the pump). I can't find this marked on Wayne's literature for the CDU980E.
Question:	When the pump is switched on by the floater, how long does it run
Answer:	If there is merely water in the sump pit, you don't need this powerful a pump. This 3/4 HP pump is for handling major water flowing into the pit. When that happens in our cellar, the pump runs until it out-runs the flow of incoming water.-- sometimes for minutes sometimes for hours. We have 4 sump installations in 4 buildings. When the water table (level of the ground water in the outside ground) is high, three of these systems pump a lot of the time and pretty constantly. We have 2 pumps in each pit so if one fails we do not get flooded. Each Pump (if more than one in the system) needs to have a check valve/ back-flow preventer so it will force the other pumps to actually pump the water up and out and not allow an operating pump to to just pump back out through the other , (not then pumping) pump. The should also be placed at different levels so they don't necessariy go on at the same time, thus reserving one as a kind of back up. Of course, if there is really a lot of incoming water -- which we had when we first bought our house, it takes both pumps to handle the in flow and avoid flooding. NOw that we use the large diameter PVC piping, it works so much better that a single pump pof this size would probably be fine. It is best to pipe the pumps with real PVC pipe and in 1 1/2" or 2" size. This will increase the flow rate by around twice as much flow as the skinny (1 1/4") highresistance black curly-sided plastic pipe they often come with. Good luck and stay dry.
Question:	when you say 'top suction' does this mean the pu,p must be totally submerged
Answer:	The pump draws water from the "LOWER" part of the pump a few inches off the floor. It does not have to be completely submerged to draw water. When the bulb float rises enough to turn on the float switch it sucks water. It turns on before the water reaches the top of the pump. I use this one and I know. Hope this helps someone.

Question:	This pump is great but a small stream of water is shooting out the body. Looks like a pin hole size. Doesn't seem normal. Any experience with this
Answer:	There are just the two main outlets so I would think that any pin hole leak is a defect. I just use mine to circulate water in a large pond so I probably wouldn't notice. In other words I'm no help but if your using yours to pump water to another location it would cause a pressure loss problem.

Answer:	THese pumps spin by creating a magnetic field so its not mechanical and if the pond goes dry the pump will not burn out. They are very dependable and I have many years of steady performance. That said, they do fail and I had one go bad within a 10 year period of seasonal use (April-Nov)

Answer:	The item description shows "4300 GPH" which means 4300 gallons per hour, but it can depend on how high, how far or pipe size. With further searching one can find a graph to show decreased gph based on increased height of pipe through which pump must deliver water to feature: spout(s), waterfall, spillway, etc. But at at a height of one foot and 10 feet of length with at least a pipe inside diameter of 1.25 inches the pump will provide over 70 gallons per minute. That's more than a gallon per second. ....that's a whole lot of water. An in-line control valve on the high pressure side of the pump may be needed to reduce flow. This pump can suck water in so fast that there has to be plenty of supply of water to it, so there can be no obstruction to provide the needed volume of water, but the supply still needs to be screened/filtered somewhat. Just saying

Answer:	It’s not really strong smelling, but it’s flammable.It should only be used in a parts washer designed for a a flammable solvent.
