Answer:	Make sure you get a size 27 deep cycle marine/rv battery, but pay the extra money for an AGM type. I bought the standard one for $81 at Sam’s Club, and it worked fine at first, but it died in 2 years because I did not check and maintain the water levels. After much research I realize that I should have paid the $159 price for the AGM version (maintenance free), and all would be well. I also got into the habit of unplugging the regular pump and dumping a 5 gallon bucket of water down to trigger and exercise the backup system fully.

Answer:	I glued a three-foot section of 1-1/2" PVD pipe to the wye-fitting at the top of the pump assemble. At the top of the three-foot section I used an 1-1/2" Fernco rubber coupler with stainless steel clamps to connect it to the drain line. You're going to love this pump. It's the quietest pump I've ever heard.
Question:	Is it ok to connect to the primary pumps PVC before the check valve, eliminating the need for 2 check valves
Answer:	No, you need a check valve for each pump. This happened to my sump pump installation: Over time, the flapper (acts like the valve) in the check valve deformed a little, detached from its hinge point(s), and ended up in the FRONT part of the body. This meant that when water was being pumped out of the sump, the water forced the flapper into the check valve opening... BLOCKING the flow! The check valve ended up working backwards, basically. With the water unable to flow, after enough time, the sump pump burned itself out. If two pumps are feeding through just one check valve, the same thing could happen to both pumps. Each pump needs its own check valve. It's OK for the discharge lines to merge afterwards. BTW: If you really depend of a reliable sump pump installation, spend the extra $30-$50 bucks and get a couple of industrial-strength check valves (regardless if you have a single or double-pump system). They will be "out of sight and out of mind" parts of your installation; you need to KNOW that they'll last!

Answer:	It's possible that the charge consumed by the control unit for 'Power' and 'Water Level' monitoring triggers brief, but frequent, charge cycles. Repeated cycles of partial charging and discharging will increase stratification (layering by specific gravity in this case) of the electrolyte, reducing the capacity and performance of the battery due to the lack of acid on top limits plate activation.Another issue is BWD's policy of releasing products with new control units the same name and part number as their predecessor(s) so it's not clear on their website nor the original manual which battery is best suited to your backup system unless your serial number is 300000 or higher.It's also possible that the wrong electrolyte was used to initiate catalysis in the battery since it is not packaged with BWD. It's up to the consumer to divine the electrolyte with the required specific gravity which wont be shown on any electrolyte's packaging. Assuming the *only* electrolyte on a store's shelves is the right one for the battery they're selling might be problematic for you but it'll probably last the duration of the battery's warranty.There's always the chance of a manufacturing defect which would be covered under warranty. Unfortunately the warranty doesn't include the electrolyte which probably explains why they're not packaged together.

Answer:	I have heard you can buy a marine battery and put sensor in a cup of water since it only detects that there is liquid in the battery so that the watchdog does not go dry. Seased marine batteries do not have this issue

Answer:	There are directions in the guide. Essentially you attach it to your main sump pipe a little higher up from your primary pump and position the float switch along the same pipe so it'll trigger if it gets above the point where your primary pump float switch is located at. You will need to buy some additional PVC pieces most likely (like a Wye fitting, a 45 degree angle pipe, and a check valve) and you'll need to cut your primary pipe to bring in the pipe line coming from the backup pump. I had some issues getting the float switch at the right level since I had to put the switch higher than it showed it in the diagram in the guide but overall it wasn't too tough to do myself and I'm not the handiest when it comes to home improvement.
Question:	Does the alarm reset itself or does it continuously sound the alarm until manually reset

You can disable the audible alarm, like if you know the primary pump is not running like during a power outage, by holding the MUTE ALARM button until it beeps at you, about 10-12 seconds. The Superior Pump 92910 includes a high quality thermoplastic battery box. This box is designed to fit most deep cycle AGM marine batteries (not included). Housed in the top of the battery box is the electronic control panel and built-in AC battery charger. Control panel features include an 87 decibel alarm which will sound if there is a loss of power and/or the backup pump is activated by the tethered float switch. Question:	How long does the battery pack up last for during an outage? And can the battery be recharged or is it one and done
Answer:	The battery will last depending on how many times the battery powered pump cycles while there is no line power. It can last a long time. My pump cycles often and my battery will last 8-10 hours. The watchdog unit has a built in tender that will keep the battery charged. I have hade batteries last 6-8 years before I need to replace them. Check the water level monthly in the battery and it will last.
Question:	Can i use an amg maintenance free battery with this system
Answer:	As long as you have the latest version of this system it will support an AGM/Maintenance free type battery. We came out with this current version about 3 years ago. Any new product you buy should have the newer version of the control panel box. If you have an older system and wanted to verify if it will work with this kind of battery, you can check the serial number from the back of the controller. When AC utility power is present, the 822PS charges a battery and monitors the wall outlet to detect a power outage. At the moment utility power fails, the 822PS draws energy from a battery and converts it to enable pump operation. Answer:	I called the manufacturer about using the 1/2 horsepower Wayne Sump I have with the 822 PS and they stated that the 822 PS could blow the fuse in the 822 PS due to it being 9 watts. I decided to buy the 1622 PS to be safe since if a fuse blew it would shut it down, so check with the company to be sure your sump pump will work properly.

Answer:	At it's widest point, the assembly measures 10" according to the drawings on the Zoeller site.

Answer:	It will not fit because the unit is a little over 15" with both pumps put on, so you will need at least a 16" crock for the float to move freely inside. We have a 14 1/2 inch crock and bought this because the answers stated that it would fit, when it, in fact, does not. The unit itself is very nicely made - no plastic pieces on it, it's made of cast iron. Just wanted people to be aware of the measurements.

Answer:	The one I installed doesn't slam or bang. If your standing over it when it runs you can when it shuts off but it not noisy.

Answer:	Here is what would happen in 2 similar scenarios: If the power goes out and your WiFi network is still active (UPS backup on router OR the power is only partially out, tripped breaker), the Smart Outlet stores enough power on the board to send data for several seconds. In this scenario, you would receive an AC power failure alert. If the power is completely out, the Smart Outlet would try to send the AC power failure alert, but your internet connection would be down. In this scenario, you would receive an alert that your Smart Outlet has lost communication with the PumpSpy Monitoring Service. If your Smart Outlet doesn't "check in" for over 2 minutes, this alert will be sent. The outlet does not communicate directly with the homeowner, the Smart Outlet sends all data and communications to PumpSpy's Remote Monitoring computers, which process incoming data and send alerts as required. Answer:	I was referred to a place (Interstate Battery) and they added the acid. I wasn't aware of a water ratio.

Answer:	It is basically what is called a deep cycle 12 volt battery like those used on boats. This allows it to be fully discarged and recharged repeatedly without a problem. If your backup sump pump uses a 12 volt battery this will work. This will not work with a standard 120 volt AC pump. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Not when I bought it! The acid cost more than the battery!
Question:	How do you charge this battery after it has been discharged
Answer:	If it has been completely discharged it is best to remove it from the unit and apply an external charging system or take it to a battery store/automotive part store to be set on charge.
