Question:	What's the blue plastic device attached on the rubber hose of the 400AH
Answer:	The picture is of the "bottom" side of the flapper, showing the hollow ball that falls down and seals the closet's discharge outlet. On the opposite (not pictured) side there's a tab to attach the chain.
Question:	What is the size of water line connection
Answer:	Make sure it really is the flapper first. Check the flush valve for cracks or an uneven edge and make sure it isn't the flush valve gasket. Fill the tank and shut off the water, see if it leaks down to the flapper and stops. If it leaks down lower, it isn't the flapper. I have had to replace both the flapper and the gasket on mine.
Question:	Why does my toilet clog
Answer:	According to the back panel of factory packaging for the Korky 2021BP, this flapper will fit TOTO Part No. THU138S. I had no problem with mine.

Answer:	The flapper would have a seal on the bottom to seal between the flapper and the flush valve. You would need to get a Flush valve assembly if you are looking for a gasket that would go between the flush valve and the bottom of the tank.
Question:	I have an older toilet that is extremely noisy when flushed, will this help in reducing noise when flushed and also when refilling
Answer:	This flapper would fit a 4021 tank, but it would depend upon the age of the tank. If your current 4021 tank has a white ridged flapper, this would work. If however you have a red flapper, then this flapper would not be interchangeable.
Question:	Does the Korky 818BP match up/replace the Kohler 85406 flush valve
Answer:	Yes, a clear silicone seal; however the seal started to bubble just like the others after about a year. these seals are just substandard products. I think that they should call it China standard instead of the great American standard............I am going to buy three more seals only from an American manufacturer, it should be resistant to the hard water (Keeney K831-3 3-Inch Replacement Silicone Flapper Seal, Clear)
Question:	Does this fit toilets with a 2" flush valve? The threads that go from tank to bowl would need to be 2" or less
Answer:	3" is the diameter of the hole in the bottom of the tank that the flapper rests on. The flapper itself is about an inch larger. Older toilets are usually 2" and newer ones are mostly 3". There are a few exceptions. If you see the two sizes together the difference is obvious.

Question:	Where is this fill valve (GP1083167) made
Answer:	The flushing power of a toilet comes from the water in the tank (and specifically the height of the water), and the blue plastic device has nothing to do with the tank fill. The blue plastic is a flow restrictor for the water going into the bowl. Depending on your water pressure, you may get different fill rates in the tank and the bowl. Excess water in the bowl simply goes down the drain, so you can slow down the bowl refill so that bowl and tank refill at the same time, saving water.
Question:	I am looking to replace a Fill Valve that has a yellow cap and the part number is 1188946. Is this the correct replacement part
Answer:	I'm not a plumber, but I've changed out a lot of toilet tank equipment over the years. I'm fairly certain that all water line connections are a standard size. I've never seen one that wasn't. Unless you have a really unusual connection, any fill valve will work. Hope that helps.

Answer:	There are a number of possible reasons. Old metal pipes can corrode and narrow. Hard water can build up a layer of calcium in the pipes. There could be tree roots in a pipe. Someone could be flushing something they incorrectly think is flushable...

Answer:	The only reason I purchased this fill valve system is because it took too long for my tank to fill. This model's specifications states that: "PerforMAX technology achieves 2X greater refill rate". It takes 140 seconds to fill my 3.5 gallon tank. This is slower than the old Fluidmaster I replaced. I am not happy about the purchase.

Answer:	No, the included flapper and flush valve are designed to work on toilets with 2" flush systems. Your American Standard Champion 4 requires a 3" flush valve and flapper. We recommend the 5030BP Korky 3" Flush Valve and Flapper Kit, and the 528MP Universal fill valve. Answer:	Wrong question. You should be asking how well the Kohler fill valve works. The valve I purchased was faulty from the get go. I spoke to Kohler support. They had me take the valve apart and clean it while they talked me through it. It worked after the cleaning for a few days.Then became erratic. I sent it back.

Once you put the red cap back on, hold a cup over it when you turn the water on, or you will get water all over if you didn't get the cap back on snugly. Other than that, it was quite easy per the directions. The cap is like a child-proof opener, push down and turn (but watch the video)...

Answer:	The bottom part is 7/8 size which is USA standard.

Answer:	yes it's adjustable, I use it in an old toilet also but I use it at half full. Works great. I did have to get a longer fill tube as the hose was getting in the way of the flush lever.
Question:	How long is the black overflow tube
Answer:	Adjust the big square thing on the top of the pole by wiggling it around until the lock nut loosens up and you can move the big square thing up and down. Move it down to about one and a half or two inches from the bottom. It should solve the problem.
Question:	Can someone who has never replaced one of these do it or should I hire a plummer

Answer:	In the picture from left to right: The valve, black locking nut, under which is the piece that holds tube (not shown but is supplied) to overflow tube, red washer with corresponding black locking nut*, and finally is the optional white locking tab to prevent unwanted accidental adjustments. *The red washer and corresponding nut are not used unless this is a new install. If replacing an existing valve, you will connect the existing supply hose or tube to valve. Even with new installs, you would most likely use a new flexible braided hose that comes with the proper nuts attached on both ends therefore the red washer and nut is not needed.

Answer:	In the specifications for this valve, it is stated that the valve replaces s TSU18A Toto fill valve. A TSU18A is designed for a TOTO one piece toilet, either a GMAX or a Power Gravity. I used this valve for a 743S Toto toilet without a problem and it was an one piece toilet.

Answer:	No. THU9021 is a junction valve. This is a fill valve (universal) for inside of the tank. The TSU99A.X was a perfect replacement for the OEM TSU18A fill valve that started leaking after 26 months.

Question:	What is the height of the ballcock itself? My old one is 10 1/4" from inside of tank bottom to the top of adjusting screw not including the plastic tu
Answer:	All required washer locknut and clip come inside the package- yes you still need them as it will install as an exact match to what was there previously
Question:	Whats the coil spring for
Answer:	Well my Kohler toilet had a Ball and arm that came in it originally and it started leaking, and I used this to replace it. Was really quite easy to do, most difficult part is removing the water inside the tank that's left over after you turn off the water and flush. I used several old towels. You could also if you had enough space undo the fill valve and have a container to catch the water. Other than that its quite easy.
Question:	Okay I'm not too handy but what is the spring for
Answer:	Mine had the same problem! It just spun. Somethign was stuck and I got extremely frustrated. The directions said to turn, but that did nothing. Turns out the whole base can be pulled straight out if the retaining collar is slid upward. After sliding that collar up, give it a good yank. Just don't break the valve and float at the top; I just about did. This fluidmaster video explains how. It's not the exact match, but is pretty much the same exact setup since Fluidmaster makes the official Kohler fill valve. Question:	Is the flapper for 2 inch toilets
Answer:	It's a variation on the 400 series. Fluidmaster makes maybe over a dozen different versions including OEM versions sold by Kohler, PerforMAX versions, ones with brass shanks, etc. The only thing that seems to be exactly the same among all versions is the float and the (replaceable) seal. Almost every Fluidmaster fill valve (including the 747PRO) uses the Model 242 seal. As others noted, it comes with a set of restrictor inserts to reduce the amount of water going into the bowl. You want to use the one that just manages to fill the bowl to the maximum around the same time as the tank is filled. I found the green one is installed in 400A valves in an American Standard Cadet 3. Those factory installed valves are EXACTLY the same as retail 400A valves, except for the insert and that they use a hex nut (which requires a tool to install/remove) rather than a wing nut that has to be tightened/loosened by hand. Someone mentioned the roller clamp in the PerforMAX. Fluidmaster has a newer one (400H) that uses a dial that varies the restriction. Much easier to adjust than the roller clamp. Fluidmaster has also been adding a bigger adjustment knob to most of its fill valves, so the photo might not reflect that yet.

Question:	how does the 1 year warranty work? Mine had issue that water was running continously
Answer:	You may be able to just watch it operate and you may see whats causing it to stick. Its not expensive to replace it all with a new kit I just noticed with this kit the toilet fills slower but I think it has an adjustment to fix it. I replace all of mine because mine kept sticking and this kit did fix that.

Answer:	I'd say, if you are patient and have a second bathroom to use so you won't be pressured, you can do this. The replacement product is universal, and made from materials which are easy to work with and don't rust. If anything, I'd look at the existing components to make sure they are not corroded or rusted, which makes it very difficult to remove the old components from the tank. Particularly the bolts which hold the tank to the base. Check those. If they are clean on the bottom of the tank under the base, and you can easily turn them with a wrench while holding the screws with a screwdriver in the tank, you should be good to go.
