Answer:	The picture is of the "bottom" side of the flapper, showing the hollow ball that falls down and seals the closet's discharge outlet. On the opposite (not pictured) side there's a tab to attach the chain.

Answer:	Make sure it really is the flapper first. Check the flush valve for cracks or an uneven edge and make sure it isn't the flush valve gasket. Fill the tank and shut off the water, see if it leaks down to the flapper and stops. If it leaks down lower, it isn't the flapper. I have had to replace both the flapper and the gasket on mine.

Answer:	It depends on whether you’re buying the regular or right height toilet. If you look on the spec pdf provided for each, regular is 15” floor to rim (no seat), and right height is 16.5” floor to rim (no seat).

Answer:	We had this exact issue with our AS Champion Elongated One Piece, manufactured in 2004. We easily resolved it by removing the fill valve cap, then removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the rubber fill valve gasket that's fitted to the underside of the cap, then reinstalling it. Gunk builds up on either or both sides of that black rubber gasket and causes long fill times, filling noise, and even a slight leak. If that doesn't fix the issue, you can replace the entire fill valve unit with a standard/universal one from FluidMaster for around $10. This advice was confirmed by customer service at American Standard.

Answer:	I just drilled amount and used brass fittings, one of the fittings was a little smaller for the black drain line that goes to the P-trap so I just took a piece of scrap tubing put on it and then forced the black drain tubing into the brass fitting 10 years later the yellow one broke so I drilled it out got the proper size Barb forced it into the faucet tapping it gently with a hammer and no leaks! I think it's actually a better design than the original and my lines were always secure zip tied and out-of-the-way but I live in a manufactured home so it could have been vibration or a number of different issues.

Answer:	The reason you want an air gap faucet is to prevent any possibility of waste water being siphoned into the RO unit and contaminating the filtered drinking water. Having said that, an RO air gap faucet can be prone to leaking at the faucet. If you have a basement under your installation site, I would locate the filters and tank in the basement, and you then route the waste water line to a drain. Good luck with the installation. It is not rocket science, but you need to be an experienced DIY person for a smooth install.

Answer:	I had this issue. Also noticed a thump every now and then in the storage tank. Your tank bladder is leaking by. It is about time to replace it. I talked to the people at Whirlpool and they explained this to me. I have had my unit for about 10 years and it has been a good one. Yeah, I blew out the old crap from the other side of the bladder but decided it was not worth chancing the quality of my water. I bought a new unit and still have time left on my membrane and filters, so I will keep using those and replace with the new ones when they are due.

Answer:	Yes. Tube had hardened after 8 years of use. When replaced tubing, I found the 1059289 Canister Flush Valve Stop Kit (the plastic piece to which the tubing attaches) had cracked, no longer able to twist lock. I will either replace it (original black plastic piece is discontinued - 'appears' to be replaced by flush-valve-repair-kit-1229656 with larger yellow plastic piece) or drill a hole and insert a pin to hold it in place. The teflon tape idea or some 'reversibly' applied rubber cement, might be needed to hold tubing in the valve stop item.

Answer:	if this is a generic 2-piece toilet with a two inch flush valve, yes, this will fit. I have used it on everything from a 1955 American Standard to a recent Kohler, and it works great.

Directions For Use:

1.) Turn off the water supply. Flush the toilet to drain all of the water

from the tank.

2.) Remove the overflow/overfill tube from the top of the flush valve.

3.) Unscrew the top holding the flush valve tower from being removed.

Remove the tower.

4.) Grab the old seal and pull gently in a circular motion to free it.

Remove the old seal.

5.) Replace the old seal with the new seal. As you do so, work around

the bottom of the flush valve in a circular motion to seat the new seal

in the groove.

6.) Replace the tower, screw the top piece back on, replace the overflow/

overfill tube and turn the water back on. You're all set!

Answer:	Any Z fold dispenser should work, called Z fold because looking at the towel from the side after pulling it out it looks like a Z. (helpful note when loading the towels the loose edge of the bottom of the stack lays at the back of the back of the towel holder. This allows you to pull off the new towel and have a good next towel ready for removal. If it's the opposite way the towels will seem to be difficult to remove or tear. These are standard Z folds which are 9.2 x 9.4. Normal packs are 250 per pack, I was disappointed that these are only 125 per pack, but 2 ply so I guess it's a moot point.

Answer:	Hmmm.....interesting question. You realize that this calls for a completely subjective answer, right? What may be soft enough for my face, may not be soft enough for yours.....in fact, I prefer Scott toilet paper which is sandpaper compared with the newer toilet paper products on the market, or even Charmin which is not so new, but much softer. So let me try to give you an answer by way of analogy: Have you ever seen those rolls of brown paper in restrooms in stores? These paper towels are much softer than those. However, these are not anywhere near as soft as the new paper towels marketed by Kleenex (the ones they recommend you use in place of hand towels in the bathroom). We use these mostly in the kitchen, but I do use them to blow my nose and they are soft enough, and strong enough, for that (I go right through tissues!). But, these paper towels are not as soft as Bounty paper towels. A long answer, but I hope it helps.

Answer:	The flushing power of a toilet comes from the water in the tank (and specifically the height of the water), and the blue plastic device has nothing to do with the tank fill. The blue plastic is a flow restrictor for the water going into the bowl. Depending on your water pressure, you may get different fill rates in the tank and the bowl. Excess water in the bowl simply goes down the drain, so you can slow down the bowl refill so that bowl and tank refill at the same time, saving water.

Answer:	I'm not a plumber, but I've changed out a lot of toilet tank equipment over the years. I'm fairly certain that all water line connections are a standard size. I've never seen one that wasn't. Unless you have a really unusual connection, any fill valve will work. Hope that helps.

Answer:	There are a number of possible reasons. Old metal pipes can corrode and narrow. Hard water can build up a layer of calcium in the pipes. There could be tree roots in a pipe. Someone could be flushing something they incorrectly think is flushable...
Question:	My Fill valve does not turn off completely.Response from Kohler said to take red cap off and purge water through it. Anyone know what this means? All seals new and not leaking
Answer:	The only reason I purchased this fill valve system is because it took too long for my tank to fill. This model's specifications states that: "PerforMAX technology achieves 2X greater refill rate". It takes 140 seconds to fill my 3.5 gallon tank. This is slower than the old Fluidmaster I replaced. I am not happy about the purchase.

Answer:	MINE is matte black and not flimsy at all. Answers to questions are wrong because. different people purchased different options. Example: Q: Is the gold a shiny gold, matte or bronze? Thanks! A: Silver matte By Dog Mom rescuer on April 28, 2019 This person answered a question about the gold option with "silver matte". Obviously they own the brushed chrome version. To answer the actual question: I did hang mine vertically. It worked well for bathroom. Just know it needs one single screw you need to hang it where there is a stud to put it in. Horizontal or vertical irrelevant, just important you have the one stud. My black iron look is matte black paint over steel and if for any reason I wanted to change the color, I'd light sand it and use a rust-o-leon type paint. The seller has a storefront Amazon page. If you have questions about one of the options, just email him and ask what was used to create your choice color. They may all be painted steel no matter which you buy.

Answer:	It comes with an Allen wrench and a silver plate. Screw the silver plate into the wall and then the holder goes on with the Allen screw using the Allen wrench. You can hang it like the pic shows but I hung mine straight up. Hope this helps.
