| Answer: | They are spare o-rings in case the original o-ring starts to leak. They go on the shaft of the needle valve under the nut that fastens the needle valve to the body of the valve housing. They are not for the threaded ends where you connect piping to the valve body. |

| Answer: | As pictured, there is a packing nut and a bonnet nut. I think the wheel handle unscrews. The entire stem assembly should be removable from the valve body, and it should be possible to adjust or replace the packing. I say "should" because I no longer have these valves. I needed a drip-tight valve for fairly rough use, so my tech service replaced them with soft-seated valves. Trerice is a highly regarded manufacturer, and I would expect that this is a quality valve. Apparently the mechanism is a cone shaped brass "needle" seating against a matching brass socket. This is excellent for fine control of flow rate, but not well suited to what I needed. |

| Answer: | I ordered the same part, and it doesn't show any signs of lead in it's construction as the unit is primarily brass other than the rod handle (steel). It could be from the manufacturing process. Washing the unit with soap and water will remove any surface contamination from the manufacturing process if you're still concerned. |
