Answer:	Nope, I was able to jam down without removing plug. (Frankly, I couldn't figure out how to remove plug. It was so stuck with my long hair wrapped around) I was able to shove the snake down multiple times to pull up gunk from both side of the plug until water moved freely clearing my clogged drain. I should say, I only used the orange plastic snake tool.

Answer:	yes as long as there are holes large enough to get the snake down, and then back out with debris. It worked very well.

Answer:	Yup, just used it to pull a 1.5" diameter wad of hair out of our second-floor shower. The wand is just the right stiffness--flexy enough to bend through a trap, but not so floppy that you can't push it through. I thought the crank looked kinda gimmicky but I tried it once just pushing it down the drain and cranking a little bit, and then a second time whaling away on the crank, and trust me... CRANK IT.
