Question:	How well does this do with fine dust? I want to sand some paint and dry wall with this attached to an orbital sander
Answer:	I haven't used this model for sanding drywall (yet), but it's more powerful than my previous model, which did just fine. It depends also on how good your dust collector is on your sander. There is a filter for the vent which should contain most of the collected dust and keep it from blowing out the vent port.

Answer:	I really don’t know if monkey balls would clog in the hose. I am very surprised after reading all these replies the number of people that don’t know what monkey balls are! Certain trees produce them. The ones that fall off the trees around here are brown with sharp spikes all over them.

Answer:	Yes, it comes with 2 bags, a cloth bag for dry vacuuming, and a foam bag for wet vacuuming. They are both re-usable.
Question:	How well does this pick up dog hair out of car upholstery
Answer:	It picked up hair until it stopped working. Strongly suggest not purchasing this unit. I only got about 10 hours or use out of it.
Question:	How strong is the suction for this vacuum
Answer:	- I got mine in May 2016, and it still is strong! Its motor actually has the same HP rating as those of several larger and more expensive units. Frankly, I think it's as strong as my M***e ((name masked for obvious legal reasons, LOL!)) - of course, I do check and clean the seal fairly regularly, and I use it with a "pre-fliter" ((explained below)) plus a bag inside the vacuum itself, rather than relying solely on the included cloth filter since I use it inside the house as a dust-collector for my "creative activities" - which basically means, my hobby of making sawdust ;). But I *have* accidentally picked up some fairly heavy items with it, such as bolts and large steel nuts. The main thing is that it doesn't include a motor-speed controller. I have not tried plugging it into an external controller because, whether I'm using it for hobby-stuff-dust-collection, or, due to it's light weight, using it to do household vacuuming, I *want* it on Full. If I want an adjustable-speed vacuum, or want to use the floor attachment(s), I use the M***e. - Both the inner bag-holder and the pre-filter are "hacks" I dreamed up - I use super-filtering bags in my M***e that remove particles as fine as smoke. But they are loose if just slipped over the port inside the vacuum's body. The hack? Layers of heavy/thick rubber bands - the suction pulls the bag against the "bump" and that both keeps it from slipping off, and also improves the seal between the edge of the bag hole, and the port. --- The "pre-filter" is 2 coffee cans, one stacked on top of the other; the lid of the bottom one has a hole with an emptied cylindrical prescription bottle which is adapted to hold onto the bag and the air is spun by a jury-rigged funnel which opens into the bag; on the other side of the bottom lid, there's a a hole that lets air be pulled out ((to create the suction)). The bottom lid has a ridge on it onto which the top coffee can "nests". Duct tape goes around that part to both seal it, and hold the upper can in place. The hacked-funnel-air-spinner-widget is inside the top can, and the end of a used heavy-duty CPAP hose runs from that collector part to the scroll saw port or whatever tool or hacked "grinding cabinet", etc. I'm using. There is a second hole in the lid of the top can that I deliberately made smallish, and forced the end of the Shop-Vac hose into that, so it seals pretty well. - ANYHOO, the end result is that the motor does not get clogged with fine dust particles that would sneak past, or through, the included cloth filter. - So that has kept it operating pretty well, even when I run it for very long ((1 to 2 hours, occasionally more)) periods of time. - I can't say anything about vacuuming-up water/liquids, though, because I've used my Floor Mate for that. - I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse Deals as a "used" item, BTW, and it's been excellent. - I *have* observed a phenomenon on Amazon where identical items will receive different ratings when one vendor is charging a higher price than another. That's one of the things one needs to watch out for when reading reviews. - I hope that helps! :)
Question:	If I want to use this in my car with a power inverter, what wattage inverter do I need? I can't find any info on the power draw in the description
Answer:	Just to clarify A Newman's contradiction of my answer, if you read his entire statement, he is actually referring to using a cig lighter for transferring the power, however, I was assuming the inverter would be connected directly to the battery, I figured this would be obvious. and of course in doing so, you are not going to "fry" your car's wiring system. to further clarify, hp is a poor measurement and not properly understood, the 1.5 hp 1 gallon vac actually draws 5 amps. I don't feel it would be any problem to connect your inverter directly to the battery, you simply life the hood and attach the cables....LOL., and if you are vacuuming your car, just how difficult is that. The 1 gallon shop vac will do a hell of a lot better job than any cig lighter vac that they sell for 20 to 50 dollars, those vac are useless. so you would be drawing 600 watts, which the 1000 inverter can handle, and most 1000 watt inverters have a peak wattage for start up of at least 1500 if not 2000 watts. Most 250 watt and above inverters tell you in the directions to connect directly to the battery and supply you with cables to do so, that's why I assumed the questionnaire would know this. Now in using a larger shop vac, you would of course need a much larger inverter. but my answer was in regard to using a 1.5 hp 1 gallon shop vac. so thank you for your indulgence.

Question:	Hi - can this model use two filters? i see many customers buy the rectangular filter and the “drum-looking” one: fits vacmaster 4 gallon vf408. also
Answer:	There are four filters for my 4-Gallon Model No. VF408 1101: a CARTRIDGE filter, a SPONGE filter, a DUST collection bag, and a small flat HEPA filter. The CARTRIDGE filter is the main filter - NOT to be used for LIQUID vacuuming. The SPONGE filter is evidently used for LIQUID vacuuming. This SPONGE "sock-like" filter fits (stretches) over the same cage as the CARTRIDGE filter. The SPONGE tore the first time I tried to stretch it over the cage. I don't do LIQUID vacuuming in any case. The HEPA filter fits in its own little space and seems to do nothing but be "politically correct." It doesn't seem to get dirty. I have no clue how the folded paper DUST COLLECTOR works. The CARTRIDGE and HEPA filters are fairly easily cleanable. Try to get the Vacmaster Owner's Manual on-line.
