This is an awesome little screw driver for many home uses. Battery life is good for several small jobs of one bigger job. I would highly recommend for as a Home owner tool.

Answer:	What I found that sometimes when I barely turned the drill to start the drill was not enough and when I turned it a little further for more torque... The drill would some times spin out the screw head slot. This was more my fault because I should have looked at the choke setting on the chuck to adjust it to a lower setting. I found to loosen a screw was that first...make sure that the screw tip is the correct size for screw head slot. Next with the bit in the drill chuck, put the bit in the screw slot. Then WITHOUT turning on the drill, turn the screw manually to break the tightened connection. Then with the drill chuck choke adjustment mid way or low setting would easily loosen the screw slowly when I wanted to loosen slowly. Plus this saved some time and battery on multiple connections. To tighten I had to remember to set the choke setting low and it would tighten and then the choke action would (rattle). Then I could increase the choke setting 1-2 steps to ensure the screw terminal was tight. I hope I this helps.
Question:	Different reviews seem to like the driver, but I get the impression that power is not its strong suit. does it really have enough torque to drive screws for various home projects? Thanks
Answer:	Definitely does the job on softer woods (e.g., basic 2x4s). I have been using it on all my shelving projects - mostly using #9 2-1/2" desk screws . The ability to change directions (in/out) makes it great for pre-drilling with a quick release drill bit without having to touch anything but the trigger. I am also impressed by the amount of torque this can generate, and the amazing battery life - really a great tool.

Question:	Would this work well for putting furniture together
Answer:	As long as you don’t have to drill your own holes to assemble the furniture. Otherwise it would be a real time saver for light duty assembling.

Answer:	I got mine in 3 days from ordering it.
Question:	Drill through a two by four
Answer:	Not recommended at all. For one thing, this does not have a locking chuck or locking hex socket, meaning the only thing that holds in the bits is a small magnet. This means you will need 1/4" hex based drill bits. Also, you will have to hold the drill bit into the socket when reversing the bit out of the hole most times. Holding a moving bit is not safe as your fingers can slip resulting in cuts to your hands and fingers. Also note this is designed for driving screws so it does not have a "drilling" speed/high speed making any drilling slower than most would expect. I have used it to drill through drywall with success, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything tougher than that.
Question:	Is there any way to use this as a light-duty drill
Answer:	True, it spins more slowly and not great as a drill, but "is there any way", yes it can. It would just drill more slowly and would be ok for a cheap simple tool kit. For example drilling some small holes in wood. Large holes or metal drilling you should find something else.

Answer:	Steel version? I know of an aluminum version but honestly I would go with this one. I've examined the Craftsman-branded version of the aluminum jointer and it's just not rigid enough. Sadly, going for a different brand is a bit of a futile gesture. They're all made in the same factory and everyone puts their branding on it. There are some quality differences in that some brands will get the first pick, but WEN hasn't disappointed me too much yet.

Answer:	I used a dial indicator on a surface gauge. You can get a cheap setup for maybe $60 on Amazon and it'll serve you in more ways than you can probably imagine if you know how to use it (and you can learn!) Basically, a surface gauge is a heavy, precisely flat chunk of metal with a post coming off of it that you can adjust the angle of with a thumbscrew. The dial indicator mounts on the end of that post and it measures how far its tip moves in one axis, usually to 0.001". Set the surface gauge on the outfeed table and bring the dial indicator down to touch the outfeed table as well. Use the thumbscrew on the surface gauge to move the dial indicator's needle to 0 (but make sure it is pushed in at least 0.1"!) Now, pull on the top end of the plunger (it sticks out the top) carefully and move it such that your surface gauge remains on the outfeed table and your dial indicator plunger rests on the infeed table. Now your dial indicator reads the height difference in the tables to within 0.001", congratulations! Of course, you could always use a trustworthy straightedge across the tables and make sure it remains flush on the outfeed table, then use a feeler gauge to see how far off of the infeed table the straightedge is.

Answer:	I have a 5 hp shop vac attached to a cyclone separator and it does a commendable job with the dust port on the Rikon. The only caveat is that–as of now–I have never set the cut depth over 1/32". Not sure how something wold be set at 1/16" or more. Hope this helps. And yes–if you are handy– you should be able to retro fit it with a 4" port.

Answer:	According to the description, the Cutech has a spiral cutting blade and the Rikon has a helical cutting blade. Both types of blade use small square cutting elements across the blade to cut. The elements on a spiral cutting blade are orient parallel to the direction of the cut and the elements on a helical blade are oriented at an angle to the direction of the cut. The helical style blade is considered an upgrade from the spiral blade.
