Collated screws are a type of fastener used in construction and woodworking applications. These screws are designed for use with screw guns or power screwdrivers and are commonly used in situations where a large number of screws need to be driven quickly and efficiently. Here are some key points about collated screws:

Materials: Collated screws are available in various materials, including steel, stainless steel, and coated steel. The choice of material depends on the application and the desired level of corrosion resistance.
Thread Types: Collated screws come with different thread types to suit various materials and purposes. Common thread types include coarse thread for wood and drywall, fine thread for metal, and self-drilling screws for materials like metal and sheet metal.
Head Types: Collated screws may have different head types, such as Phillips, square, or Torx, allowing you to choose the type that works best with your screwdriver or screw gun.
Length and Diameter: Collated screws are available in a range of lengths and diameters to accommodate different projects. It's crucial to select the right size and type of screw for the specific task at hand.
Versatility: These screws are versatile and can be used in a variety of applications, including framing, drywall installation, decking, and more.
Efficiency: Collated screws save time and labor compared to manually loading individual screws. They are often used in construction projects where speed and efficiency are essential.
Accuracy: Using collated screws with a compatible screw gun or screwdriver can improve the accuracy and consistency of screw placement, reducing the likelihood of stripped or damaged screws.
Compatibility: It's essential to ensure that the collated screws you choose are compatible with your screw gun or screwdriver. Different manufacturers may have specific collation systems.
Safety: When using collated screws with power tools, it's crucial to follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and exercise caution to prevent accidents.
In summary, collated screws are a practical and time-saving solution for various construction and woodworking projects. They are available in different materials, thread types, and sizes to accommodate a wide range of applications. When using collated screws, it's important to select the appropriate screw type for your project and ensure compatibility with your screw gun or screwdriver.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do I buy it |
Answer: | First of all, these are collated screws meaning they fit into a Duraspin gun. Second, they are not coated with any weather protection. They are meant for Inside work. If it's the correct length you want to purchase the 06A162W. They are for Exterior. |
Question: | will these screws work on picket fence |
Answer: | The simple answer is yes, keep in mind though you can choose different drivers, i.e. Phillips Torx etc, and you can choose length of screw . Most of the time the can of screws comes with a driver that matches so you should have no problem, good luck |
Question: | Will these screws work in the dewalt 20v max xr drywall screw gun collated magazine accessory (dcf |
Answer: | You should use 1-5/8" |
Question: | How long of screws do I use with 5/8 drywall |
Answer: | I would be concerned about this application for a few reasons. If I assume that you are going to have something behind the shower surface itself, such as some seriously thick plywood to provide the backing, then I still have to make a point about the physics involved here.Togglers, and any fastener really, are rated for a certain weight. If you are hanging a microwave, that weight is fairly static and easy to calculate. You are talking about a seat, and the problem with seats is that humans sit in them and their apparent weight due to the acceleration of gravity is more than the weight of the individual upon impact. I could pull out a lot of math, but suffice to say that a 200lb person who plops down into a chair, is putting far more than 200lb of strain on the chair at the moment of impact and this is likely to cause something to break and someone to get hurt. This is why I can drop a bullet and it won't go through anything, but if I accelerate it - it can pierce steel - and bullets don't weight 200lbs. You can obviously overbuild the solution, but keep in mind that the shower is a very wet place, and wood can rot over time and result in a potentially fatal situation if things go poorly around hard slippery surfaces. So I think the answer is yes, but you are going to want to over engineer your solution and then make it waterproof to a paranoid degree to ward against catastrophic failure or injury. If the backing behind your shower is not robust enough, it will be like trying to mount a massive TV on sheetrock - the material will give and the mounts will simply rip out of the wall as soon as someone sits on it. |

Senco 08F200Y Duraspin# 8 by 2" Subfloor Collated Screw (1, 000per Box)
- 2-inch length
- No. 2 square flat head with no. 8 shank
- Coarse 2/3 thread with wax
- Yellow zinc finish
User questions & answers
Question: | Are they 2" or 2 1/2" in length? If your gonna sell something, make sure the description is correct |
Answer: | Also, the blank shank lets the head pull the board down Tight. Threads all the way up will not make boards tight, unless you drill an over-sized hole in the top board (bigger than the threads). |
Question: | Why is there small threads near the head of the screw |
Answer: | NO, these will NOT work on cement board / Hardi board. Instead, you'll need: Senco item #08T150WBWFDS for cement board-to-Steel studs. Alternatively, for cement board-to-wood studs, use Senco item #08T125W (1-1/4") or item #08T150WBWFDS (2"). |
Question: | Will these screws work for cement board as well |
Answer: | NO, this product is not designed for "roofing" (assuming you are asking about fastening a wood underlayment to roof truss/rafters. Instead, I'd recommend nails... But if you really want to use screws, then try Senco Item #07Q125PBQ which is a nice 1-1/4" square head, grey phosphate coated screw. It's a trim head screw designed for underlayment, and wood to wood applications as I believe you're trying to explain. |
Question: | Would you want to use these for roofing on a house |
Answer: | If you mean the Rigid collated screw gun; the answer is yes. |

Question: | Could these screws possibly be used to put rustic corrugated metal on a ceiling ? I am looking for a quicker option than drill and tin screws |
Answer: | These screws are for securing a plywood subfloor to wood joists, that's why the two different thread dimensions. Although any screw will hold two things together these are for an interior application. I think they are a zinc composition and will rust in the elements, how quickly depends on your climate. |
Question: | would these work for attaching pickets to privacy fence |
Answer: | Yes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work with DCF |
Answer: | I have both the 20 volt & the corded. It will not work on the corded gun! Note: I have never used my corded guns since I purchased the 20 volt and Collated accessory. Always use in straight line forward and ALWAYS have it running at full speed prior to engaging. Enjoy! |
Question: | Has anyone put this on a corded DeWalt drywall gun and can say that it actually works? I can't find a pic of where it threads on |
Answer: | No, I don't believe so. To use this accessory you have to remove the nose tip from the Dewalt Drywall Driver and then snap the magazine attachment on. Although there are no electrical or mechanical connections between the two parts it does have to snap in place so the "exactly" 6" long bits will protrude properly from the front of the attachment. I did some searching for square drive bits (which Dewalt does not sell), which need to be ground down to work, and I had to go thru more than four brands before I found the exact length. Even a 1/8" shorter bit would not drive a screw flush, despite the depth adjustment. So, the short answer is no. But the Dewalt DCF620 is a nice drywall driver. And coupled with this attachment it works great. |
Question: | will this work w/ other brands of guns |
Answer: | DCF6201 can use all Phillips collated screws that are 2 inches or shorter, and that are collated at the head of the screw. |
Question: | Will this work with Hitachi collated screws |
Answer: | I suppose there's no reason why they couldn't be used for this, but they are not self-tapping, so you would still have to drill first. Plus, they have a flat countersunk head, so I don't think they would look as good as a button head or pan head screw. |
