Answer:	Laid down flat - 27 1/2" wide, 46" long (you can take about 3" off this by using the shorter handle length slots), 25" high with rail on (21 1/2" with it off). You can stand it up or lay it down - either works.

Answer:	Yes, you will need the Dado Throat Plate which is DeWalt Part Number DWE7402D1. Per DeWalt, do not attempt to stack dado blades thicker than 13/16" (20 mm). Do not use dado blades larger than 8" (200 mm) diameter. Since dado cuts are not thru-cuts, the cuts must be performed with the blade guard assembly removed. To remove the blade guard assembly, pull riving knife/blade guard release lever and pull up on the guard or riving knife to remove. When using the dado, the special dado insert (also sold as an accessory) must be used.

Answer:	It's a great saw. It has some safety features that I love. If you have a limited budget I would recommend that you stave for a couple of days and buy this saw. It is bulky and it's gonna cost you a little over $600 out the door but it's worth it. Remember when buying tools try to buy the best you can find. You don't want a cheap tool to stop working in the middle of the day.

The stand top is wood so you would be able to drill mounting holes for your drill press.

Answer:	I had to enlarge the opening a bit to install the new switch. The saw case is plastic and it's easy to modify the opening with a hacksaw - the kind with a small bayonet type handle for use in tight spaces. The plastic case is very easy to cut through. Got the switch installed and everything works just like it's supposed to.
Question:	Does this saw come with an extension
Answer:	Any time you are replacing a wired item, you should be removing one wire at a time from the old item and placing it on the new one. If you didn't think to do that, it's still not the end of the world. Looking at the switch from the backside, the black wires connect to the left side terminals and the white wires go to the right side. Answer:	I bought the saw for just this reason, and was dissatisfied enough that I sent the saw back. The specs say that it will cut wood 1½" wide. Standard pinewood derby cars are 1¾" wide, so they're out of spec, and I can tell you from experience that it's definitely too much for the saw to handle. Even trying to make vertical cuts through the car body, which is only 1¼" tall, is too much for this saw. I tried a bunch of other scrap pieces of wood of varying widths, and with varying (better quality) blades than are included in the kit. I couldn't get the saw to make satisfactory cuts on anything wider than ½". So if you want to make pinewood derby cars, you're better off spending $50 more or so for a small band saw.
Question:	Does anyone know how big is the shipping box? I want to order this to my postal box and I need to know if I can load it in my trunk
Answer:	I have found 1.5 " to be the maximum. I have cross cut 2 x 3s, & ripped a 2x2 (32" long) down to create a custom 1 1/8" for repairing a hollow door--- However that long rip cut took about 10 minutes, using a 'fast' cut blade. It is very slow going on a rip cut-- like 1 mm per 2 seconds. I would expect it would also be very slow on 1" hardwood. It is okay for crosscuting lumber & scroll work & custom part making (slow cuts)... But not a heavy duty machine for production parts

Question:	Is the current model that is shipping type 1 or type 20. If you look up the parts diagram the type 20 has a different slide mechanism part number
Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20
Question:	Can xps be added, i know dewalt makes a kit to add it to some saws, but this model was not listed
Answer:	mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.
Question:	Does this miter saw come with a laser or any guiding system
Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!
Question:	Is there an LED cut line
Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Question:	this saw comes w/a diamond blade. would it be good enough to cut little glass mosaic tiles or should I order a different diamond blade
Answer:	The blade will cut through the glass tiles just fine, however, I would suggest purchasing a thinner more durable blade. I purchased a Ridgid 7" blade from Home Depot. The Ridgid blade make cleaner cuts and wastes less material because it is a thinner blade.Also, Skil just came out with a new updated model of this saw. I would suggest purchasing that saw instead because it has some much needed improvements. Answer:	am sure you can cut even 24x24 in. tile. to cut straight get 1x1x 20--24 in, wood and clamp under the table as your guide to cut straight,hope this will help. skil power tools are great and cheaper than MK

Answer:	Depends on the size of the rock. The material is not an issue -- I use it to cut agates and quartz up to a couple inches in size. The important thing is to go slow and make sure to keep the cut wet.

Answer:	i'M SORRY, BUT NO THIS WILL NOT CUT THE BRITTLE. this saw was designed for tile, brick and old tootsie rolls only. the reason tht is, the hamsters in the the motor are allergic to peanuts and a few other foods. seeing as how we all love fluffy hamsters, they gave them work instead of turning them away( that and hamsters have a ton of kids!!). the saw you are looking for has gophers in the drive motor( 2 x's the power for those thick piece's of brittle), that have been thoroughly screened for any deadly allergies to tree nuts and dairy, not to mention sock puppets and shoe polish as well. i do suggest that if you are going to buy the gopher powered brittle slicer 3000xlr made by Skill'dG( skilled gophers), to make sure you are getting the real thing, and not a cheap australian clone. contact the gopher union work force development office and they will give you a list of all non gopher supported and wallaby knock offs and a wallet sized card for easy recognition of their branded products. They may ask for a donation, but it's well worth the $120 to join their non members club. You get free holes in your green, and much, much more. Question:	Where can i buy Replacement blades
Answer:	I'm sure it can, but I wouldn't personally do it with this machine. I recently had an issue with my planer where the straight-knife cutterhead was damaged. That's a long story in itself. Anyways, under warranty I had a certified Jet mechanic replace the cutterhead with a new one, which is the same operation you'd do if you replaced it with a helical head. He had a VERY hard time doing it and it even involved his machinist making him a special tool just to disconnect the cutterhead from the gearbox. Not only that, you'd never get your money back out of it. So, if you want a helical head I'd recommend spending the extra money to buy the helical-head version of this planer. This is the path I wish I would've taken.

Question:	can you cut laminateflooring with this blade
Answer:	Clean your rollers. I use rubbing alcohol and a lintfree cloth. Its a pain to do but makes all the diffrrence. Note that the rollers only move when the machune is running so i carfully clean what a can then flip the machine on and off again quick and wait till it stops and clean. I usually have to repeat that 5 or 6 times to get the entire roller. Careful to as thise blades show no mercy to gloved hands. Dont ask how i know but they did slice thru a 20 dollar pair of gloves like they were paper.
Question:	Can you cut datos with this saw
Answer:	There are three blades in the pack. And they are double sided, so you can flip them and have a new plane surface. Easy to do.
