Question:	Is the current model that is shipping type 1 or type 20. If you look up the parts diagram the type 20 has a different slide mechanism part number
Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20
Question:	Can xps be added, i know dewalt makes a kit to add it to some saws, but this model was not listed
Answer:	mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.
Question:	Does this miter saw come with a laser or any guiding system
Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!
Question:	Is there an LED cut line
Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Question:	How much weight this item
Answer:	It was my main reason for buying it. I used a Delta sander similar to this for over 20 years until it finally wore out. This one didn't last me 6 months. I tried a Wen also with no better results. The one I finally bought at Harbor Freight for less money has lasted the longest so far. You will have to shop around for belts fine enough to sharpen knives. I use 1000 to 1200 grit to sharpen knives.
Question:	Is this saw a duel bevel
Answer:	Yes. They are on the machine. But it might not be the grit you need for the project you want to do. I need a finer belt for sharpening knives and a coarser grit disc for removing metal quickly.
Question:	Does it have a stop to allow partial depth cuts
Answer:	If you mean will the motor reverse direction then no. There is only an off-on switch - nothing to change direction.
Question:	Is there a storage box/bag for this tool
Answer:	1,700 RPM. I got mine about a year ago. The unit looked like it was repackaged and when I turned it on it had a real loud grinding sound, ear piercing! I returned it thru Amazon when no problem and they send another one. This one was in a new package and it works great. I love it. Pretty sure someone sent me one that had been returned.

Answer:	It may?? I am using my stand with a Hitachi 10" miter saw but it is not sliding.. It has good balance and I have not had any issues with it yet.I did have to mount a piece of plywood on the stand and the saw to the plywood but other than that it works well. Centering the saw on the stand will probably be the key with a sliding set up.
