Answer:	The "orbital" refers to the circular motion of the blade. It moves up and down (as if on a y-axis) and also forward and backward (as if on the x-axis). The forward/backward motion is very slight compared to the up/down motion. It makes the cut more aggressive and a lot faster. Breaking down 2x4's goes very quickly. However, you can set the orbital motion from min to max, so this is very adjustable and this saw can still make very accurate cuts with the right blades.

A foam surround is more compliant and the driver has a lower mechanical Q, that is to say less energy is stored at the mechanical resonant frequency. For better or worse won’t get the same sound with this edge style.

Answer:	No! Just attach it to your electric drill and turn your drill into a reciprocating saw. This tool works flawlessly. I have been using it right after I receive it. I am planning on buying another one for my brother.

Answer:	It might have come with a package of wood blades. They are of no interest to me. I do not find DeWalt blades here in Ecuador but Bosch makes many blades that fit. It is a good saw.

Variable Speed Control

Adjust the thumb-wheel to increase or decrease the speed according to the material, material thickness and blade specification to be used (also possible during no load operation).

Avoid prolonged use at very low speed as this may damage your jigsaw’s motor.

• 5-6 speed setting for wood
• 3-4 speed setting for metal
• 3-4 speed setting for aluminum
• 4-5 speed setting for PVC
• 3-4 speed setting for ceramic

Double Safety Switch

• ON/OFF Switch

Depress to start and release to stop your tool.

• Switch Lock-on Button

Depress on/off switch then lock-on button,

release on/off switch first then lock-on button second. Your switch is now locked on for continuous use. To switch off your tool just depress and release on/off switch.

Pendulum Action Control

The pendulum action varies the forward cutting angle of the blade for increased cutting efficiency. This can also be adjusted during no load running. Do not use excessive blade force when cutting with the pendulum action. The blade cuts on the upward stroke only.

• 0 for Thin materials. Fine cuts. Tight curves.
• I for Hard materials, (e.g. steel & chipboard)
• II for Thick materials ( e.g. wood ) & plastic
• III for Fast cuts (e.g. softwood). Cutting in the direction of the wood grain.
