Answer: You probably have a strong letdown. I find that these connectors are less likely to get a milk spray or condensation into the tubing than other connectors. I use them with a spectra pump so I have backflow connectors attached to prevent milk or condensation going into the tubing and I have noticed that with them being attached on top there is less condensation in the backflow connectors than with my other connectors. So far these have quickly become my favorites because they are easy to clean and cheaper than the others.

Answer: You may need to see a lactation consultant to be sized. The rule of thumb is that the areola should not be sucked into the barrel of the flange. There are a few online charts that might help. Becauseflange sizes differ between each manufacturer you may want to order two different sizes and return the one that doesn't work or keep it.
