Answer:	It cuts upto 3/4"wide when it's thinner than 1/4". The included vice can't hold much wider than 3/4"wide material. The blade can cut wider (but not more than 3/4"max.) if the material is 1/4" and if the thickness is the max. allowed 1/2" you can cut upto 1/2" round (not 1/2"square). Answer:	Im not sure. This is a heavy duty power tool that will kick your breaker before it will show signs of struggling.

Answer:	What about aluminum? Will it cut it?-- yes, but with a different blade. Is it made of aluminum?-- yes, some of it is but made very sturdy.

Answer:	This saw has a 1" Arbor, so if your blade does as well, it will fit. While this saw is made for a 14" blade, it has adequate plunge to accommodate a 12" blade even though the width of material from the backstop won't be able to be as wide.
Question:	How does this (D28715) compare to the DW872 besides price
Answer:	The DW872, I believe, is about 10 pounds heavier, and heavier duty. The D28715 strictly uses abrasive wheels, which wear out. DR872 uses carbide tipped blade, which lasts longer, cuts faster, cuts thicker material, and supposedly gives you lower cost "per cut" because you're not wearing down and replacing abrasive wheels. Abrasive wheels are also known to break apart and fly all over the place. It's scary when that happens, and you learn quickly to hold your material to be cut firmly in the grip, and to not put any kind of torque onto it at all. When you do, you dig into the wheel and it breaks apart. I have the D28715, and I used it to make about 250 linear feet of iron railing. Used it for probably 1,000, mainly on 1/4 solid bar stock, but also on the railings, plus other stock for various projects. Went through maybe half a dozen abrasive wheels, which weren't very expensive. By comparison, one carbide tipped blade should have held out for the whole project.I'm very happy with the D28715. If I was a contractor looking at daily use, or I had a mountain of material I needed to cut quickly, I might consider DW872. But for home use, I wouldn't spend the extra 200 bucks.

Answer:	on top of the saw next to blade gaurd is the blade lock button. make sure you have battery removed before you attempt to change blade. push blade lock button and hold down while taking allen wrench and turning counterclockwise to remove blade screw. reverse procedure to replace

Answer:	Any of the Craftsman 19.2 volt batteries, i use the 5.0 amp from Polling I purchased on amazon
Question:	Does this model have the built in laser line
Answer:	While laser guiding line may give the tool a cool look, I find it more annoying than helpful. 1st of all, it's never accurate. If you rely your cut on the laser line alone, chances are your cut will be off. secondly, looking at the bright red laser beam temporarily blind your sight, and you will have very hard time see any ink-marked line on the material. I have a jig saw with such a laser guiding beam and I hated it. Since there is no switch to turn it off, I ended up disassembling the tool and cut the wire that feed power to the light.
